I was told this too. I was then told that one of their staff members said it wouldn't fix their lag issues.

mhm. So, they are most likely in the same boat due to both of us using an outdated GM as a base they we've been building on top to.

How come the other CityRP server (i.e Fearless) is able to maintain smooth FPS on high player numbers + 2 cars per player, but ours starts to lag over like 40? I'm not at all familiar with how these Gmod servers work, but is this due to the fact that they may have more expensive servers hosting orrrr they've done some optimizations or something along those lines?
And on top of that, are there any upcoming plans for smoothing out the FPS on these LL servers for higher player numbers?

Yes. However, due to the legacy of the gamemode (with sections being over 10 years old at this point), this isn't a small task.

We're looking at improving our current systems, along with removing or replacing other systems which are a detriment to performance.

Why is the font on the Media Team rank different to the rest of the ranks.

Will thier be a christmas card thing? If so what will the best car you can win
Nov 16, 2017, 06:05 PM
If there is a christmas trading card event, could you possibly make it so there's some sort of limited edition clothing item or weapon or something. Adding more and more cars is getting a bit excessive in my opinion. For example, would love to see an exclusive Suit that people can wear (would obviously look much nicer and smarter than the suits that are already purchasable).

They wouldn't tell us lmao then it wouldn't be a surprise.

Why does it seem like the primary focus has been aggressive rp, cars, and car lights? Why do most of the classes still seem like they are straight out of the box, with new playermodels? Are the marketable drugs of any actual use or value beyond screen effects and % chance of death?
I mean kudos to all the things that have been done, but serious questions. Cooks are still invalidated by fish and fishing poles. Still selling completely inferior food items to that can be easily attained with only mouse motion. Gun Dealer still deals all the guns, BMD deals in mainly useless objects. Cheffeur still seems to be just a car and hopes that the dude doesn't just run away. Desk Secretary still seems largely pointless, though he can give out passes.
These aren't new issues with the gamemode. Many of us have played this gamemode for years prior to the forming of this community and have know these things.
I don't want a long, articulated response to every detail of what I said. I don't want to hear about how some of it is "in the works." I just want to know the truth about why little seems to have been done to fix the easiest issues to spot, that we've known and complained about for years. I remember at FL, everyone using the excuse that Soul wouldn't let it happen, cause he's *insert excuse.* You broke away to change that. What happened?

You don't want a long and articulated response, so I'll give you the bare basics.
Quote:I just want to know the truth about why little seems to have been done to fix the easiest issues to spot, that we've known and complained about for years.Because there's not enough developers. Until recently, I was the only one working on the GM.
Rock is a modeller and does vehicles.
PaulB does back-end web.
Noble does front-end web, models and graphics.
Mathias is on leave.
Vol and Burnett both do back-end security.
Faustie (until recently) was on leave, and prior had a focus on back-end security.
That left only me. We're sorting that out now. Mathias (when he gets back) is working on an in-depth passiveRP system.
Both Vol and Burnett are working on passive-RP systems.
Faustie is also working on a system.
However, as I'm sure you'll appreciate after our chats, development, especially for this GM, is not the easiest and quickest thing to do.
Things are being worked on, but there aren't enough people to work on everything and fix every problem instantly.

It might have just failed to pass staff review, but Internet forgot to post that it failed due to lack of staff support.
