I can always find RP's to join, people like xx Max starts mini-events all the time. Clans and Groups are a perfect way to go MCSO is a persistent Policing group, on the other hand, you have Weyland Yutani dodgy as shit but fun. Then there's Smaller Clans like mine and , both of which have very small amounts of Aggro RP, for instance, Genovese we have moved a lot more into business and Clan Politics because its more fun than shooting the PD, debatably ruining their RP. So pretty much there is always RP it's just if you don't go looking for it then your not going to get it.
Good morning all,
I saw somebody bring up the question “Why can’t I Roleplay as a serial killer?”
Realize that there would still have to be a Roleplay aspect to that. You still would not just be able to kill everyone on the server whenever and wherever you want. You’d have to do it in secluded places, with no witnesses around, and you’d have to have a set agenda. (You’re killing a specific type of people, not just everyone.)

I have also seen some interesting RP's similar to this where people leave ragdolls around witch clues for Detectives, it eventually leads to the killer.

actually was in the process of making one XD
Perhaps the people who make these threads are bored by the gamemode so they don't often play. I joined for the first time in a couple years last weekend and remembered how boring it was, thus I made this thread.
My goal here isn't to tear anyone down, criticize the work of the developers/admins or say that there is ABSOLUTELY no fun on LimeLight. I'm saying there has been a large shift towards serious, boring roleplay. This is reflected by the stringent rules and regulations on every portion of roleplay. This is also reflected by the decreasing player count.
There needs to be some level of realization by the staff in this community that maybe things have shifted too far for the average player. Things are too serious, rules are too strict, the learning curve is too high. It's the truth.
I agree with everything mentioned to be honest. I've felt it's been this way since I started playing here.
For example back on Rockford,
made an underground bunker for our rp group THECOMPANY or whatever. Shortly after it was discovered a rule was implemented.
Quote:8.7 - You can make bases/dupes outside the map, as long as they remain accessible and follow all other prop and base rules. You are not allowed, however, to have weed/contraband/meth labs/medkit labs/etc. inside these bases.
We didn't really use any of these inside of the bunker. What if we did? What difference does it make as long as everyone has the same amount of access to the bunker (using keypads and elevators)? I find no reason for this rule to be made with the exception of being in control somehow. It's funny cause the rulle is actually worthless on EvoCity. The only place where it can be made is under the waterfall in Nexus. Not that whoever wrote this would know that, I have a feeling this was written up quickly and posted just for the sake of it.
Another example as put it, the border control. I used to actively make embassies and border controls on Rockford, mostly Mexico but also Canada by the lake up the ravines. We followed the rules and what the staff told us. Shortly after making said roleplay for a few times, a rule popped up.
Quote:8.8 - You require staff permission to do "Country" RP (e.g taking a part of the map and turning it into another country with its own laws/exempt from global laws, police, border force, etc.) or other similar RPs (at staff discretion).
Whilst the reason for this was, "cityrp, not warrp", I still find the IC diplomacy and perhaps also WarRP, cause who cares, would be a better way to approach this. Why take it OOC? Why restrict something that everyone finds fun, except for that one guy who is actually President and who doesnt wanna rp it out.

your mexico rp inspired me at first to start making different types of places that rockford was bordered with obviously some more unrealistic like ukraine but alot of effort went into them and i never got to use then sadly
Rules need to be revamped.
They limit aggressive RP too much while not providing enough incentive for passive RP.
I mean, every time we try to do passiveRP we get some form of punishment. It's odd when you've been punished more times for doing passiveRP than for doing aggressive RP.

The last time I played this server properly you and your mates would always do "RP" in order to make roleplay difficult for everyone else on the server and would always bend the rules to get away with it. I believe that you're part of the problem but hopefully since that was a year or two ago you have changed now.

Yeah, we just don't do any passiveRP anymore. We just stick to extortion and muggings or even going cop.
The last passive RP we did was to set up a nice peaceful fishery which ended up with a 2 week ban and a PTE blacklist for all of us, despite no rules being broken.

with all respect although at first you make some good points you seemed to go off to a more. Staff report esque feel than talking about the subject of LL being boring wouldnt it possibly be better to post that stuff on there instead of here?

Are you saying I should post a staff report? Or start another discussion?

id say if its a big issue to you definetely a staff report or if you more wish to rant id say open another discussion or something as i dont feel this thread is the place for it
There's so much shit in this thread I have read, and both agree and disagree with, but there's one point I'd like to point out, specifically, not for any reason, but for it being the last thing I read.

Maybe allow it only if I can take out my P90 and mow down anyone who calls me a tranny, because believe me that shit happens a lot and they're protected because it was "in character". But you know what? Even when it didn't happen in-character and happened in the admin sit, you know what? The guy got away with it. Nothing happened.
We did.
And then we got 80% of the community who wanted it back.
