I haven't had the chance to try this map since Workshop downloads are scuffed for me but, this map seems interesting.

Snow version: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f...xt=evocity

Normal version: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f...xt=evocity

The snow-map is truly beautiful..

The normal version looks good so far, but I did not test it in singleplayer yet. I hope it does not have any dead-ends.

Edit: The snow map would fit into the current time I guess.

It has a nice city area, BUT it just has to many damn trees, all the prime build zones people adored 33x for, are gone, and some areas just have to much unremovable junk in them.

Im serious, there are beyond to many trees on that map, and this is comming from the guy who used to FILL the map with tree's, but at least my tree's could be removed to enable RP builds to occur within those areas.
Why would there be trees INSIDE the lot? They are just in the way

More randomy placed tree's that actualy block access routes.

And the biggest betrayal of all with this map, it turns the grassy field, the most in demand build zone, the zone that has created so many amazing RP builds, into an absolutely shitty, garbage filled camp ground, with unremovable trees, and trash textured right onto the ground.

It has a nicer city than the usual 33x and V2D versions, but the rest of the map is just awfull.

Edit: It also just has bad design choices in areas, like this within the town hall:
It is literaly just a hallway to nowhere.

Badly designed building exteriors as well, why would this building be constructed at a slant like this?

This is a map made by someone who thinks they know what canada looks like, but has absolutely no idea what things actualy look like here.
Would prefer v5p

If you're aware off the x64 branch in development, Willox is implementing the same Voice codec as CSGO soon hopefully. It was in the x64 branch for a while but got removed IIRC.

Also, you're wrong about the voice codec, it got updated about a year ago I believe to a modern Opus codec but Willox admitted he thinks he screwed it up hence why it doesnt sound much better than before.

I'm going to need at least 3 non-affiliated sources to confirm before I accept this as truth.

Even if we just have it until 20th of January or something. Pretty sure it has a few more roads then normal, or longer at least

Or just use StormFox and then nearly any map can become a snow map as it swaps out textures.

Yeah but I would rather have the map which has texture painting etc instead of a addon which just replaces it with a basic texture with no normal maps etc
Noo wayy the time ive waited for this day when the map changes i will return

Did you also check the snow map?
I did, while it has some issues fixed like the dark tunnels, overall its still just not a good map, even if it astheticly due to the snow is more appealing.

Overall its still just not a very well designed map, it tries to look nice from a distance, but to closer examination its not nice at all.

One of the biggest issues I have with it is just its overuse of trees in nonsensical ways that block access to RP build areas, and making other areas look stupid. Why would there be trees here and not a small garden bed, or just grass, when the branches stick out on nearly every single city sidewalk to thwack people in the face as they drive by, or the parking lots with big tree branches sticking into the pathways or into parking spaces.

Tree's for the sake of tree's

‍ I have absolutely no idea why I found this so hilarious.

I read this while at work and burst out laughing. Now my coworkers are staring at me.  Laugh
I just found the following map when browsing Facepunch forums. It's highly detailed and will be released on Christmas morning!

Source

EDIT: I just found out this is the guy who created Rockford. I don't think there is a lot to worry about with this map.

EDIT #2: Just read this in the video description.

Quote:This is RP Truenorth. It is a small town RP map created by Statua. It is dynamic in location in that an Autorun Lua script will convert elements of the map to turn it from a small Alberta town to a town situated somewhere in Idaho. It's a mix of urban small town area, outskirt industry, lush forest, grassy farmland, and steep, winding mountain.

This map is RP oriented in that many services are close together to bring players together when they need to. Many properties are in the countryside however which creates a much more isolated basing experience for players.

More details to come on release date.

Workshop link: To be posted December 25th 2018....

EDIT #3: I just got a reply from the author about the map with an overview and more pics.

It looks like really nice map, with a lot of diversity in it, but  a massive question is how big is it because it looks like a very large map, like is there any other map to compare it know that is out now?

Looks decent, though the dangers of a new map is its unreliability and probable unfinished things etc,

Also there are some areas that kind look very plain, like if you look in the video at around 2:25 or so the roads kinda feel empty.

And another thing worth noting is that the creator doesn't say much on the map itself, nor does he describe it, there's really no information to go on from what I've seen in the source link, other than the date of release, unless I am missing something.

Interesting find though.
Truenorth does look promising, but until I can explore it myself I will withhold judgement. Map looks like the town from Corner Gas

Though soon as i saw the police station i immediately thought:

Gota love the RCMP
I'll see if I can get the author to post more about the map.

I just found out the creator of the map is the one who created Rockford so I don't believe there is a lot to worry about. The map was announced for 2 days ago so I guess he will come up with more information soon.
