Right, so let's get this straight through, cause some people might not get it: a map will not make Garry's Mod a better game.

It will still be an outdated engine, with limited possibilities in terms of features,
using an outdated voice codec (aka shitty voice quality; it was made in 2001), on small maps and with performance issues here and there.
Trust me I know, I've been playing it for 7 years which is half of its lifetime.

What it can do, however, is make better use of what we have in terms of variety, exploration and map interactivity.

A map change is a very good suggestion and I am glad that the devs are embracing it, however, it is only a temporary solution to lengthen the longevity of the game. If you already got bored of Garry's Mod, don't expect this to solve all your problems at once. But you also need to understand that this is not our developers' fault.

hire some nerd to make a new map for u while everyone pitches in ideas for the perfect map, and put a copyright on it so no other servers can steal it

or put in v2d cuz thats the best no doubt in my mind

Being a long-term player I like 17x as it would allow me to have my favourite bits of v2d (industrial, and the shops in the city) with my favourite bits of v33x (flat land, lake and looping ability) and from experience a slightly smaller map does increase player interaction and the V2d city shops are better for RP and the city layout is better than Rockford.

That being said I do think that there is better maps out there, whilst I'd love to suggest some here now I'm still having a look to see if I have any better suggestions (for example I love new Exon shame it's Australian so it's all wrong side of road)
