The officer deserves to rot in prison,

RIP George.
There's fully grown men thinking that they're funny by being edgy on a thread like this, absolutely embarrassing.

RIP George Floyd, I hope that the police responsible get the punishment that they deserve.
Here’s another issue I have with this:

As a Law Enforcement Officer, you already generally have a target on your back. However, that target generally increases in size when use of force controversies arise.

Years back, near my city, four officers who were on duty were sitting in a coffee shop, enjoying their coffee when a man came inside the shop, and shot all four officers inside, killing them. It was discovered he was upset with a recent use of force issue that happened prior, and that’s why he killed those police officers.

In 2016, a man who was upset with a recent shooting in Dallas ambushed the Dallas Police Department. In total, he shot fourteen police officers and two civilians, five of those officers died.

My point is, this is going to cause people to try and kill more police officers. It is unfortunately likely that officers are going to be killed in “retaliation”.

These four police officers have put every other officers life in danger.

Not just the police officers lives, but the whole stability and future of the US.

I believe that in 10-20 years we're gonna see waves of bombings and terrorist attacks by future "black panthers" and deadly "retaliations" by white supremacists. Countless of innocent lives are going to parish.

These racial tensions and division does not help anyone, it will result in a dark and deadly future.

When you have more guns than people, how do you think such conflict is going to look like on the streets?
We out here protesting the locks on the target cash registers
CNN News teams were just arrested live.

I personally condemn the actions taken by the officer, he has given a bad name for every officer, and could get officers hurt/killed.

But I also condemn these people using one mans death to justify violence and riots. What sort of legacy is being left for George Floyd?

This is only the start of whats to come..
Also the entire hysteria continues to reaffirm my belief that one person being leader is a poor decision. Trump is bouncing back and fourth between relations. I don't support Twitter censoring his tweet (Even though they didn't censor it, they simply put a warning on it, and fact checked another tweet (Which I do support as I hate junk science)

America's stability is on thin ice. And that's assuming its still on the ice. I hope Trump takes it seriously like he seems to, I hope the national guard is deployed, and I hope these violent, low life thugs are taken off the street cleanly and swiftly by whatever means is deemed fit.

Stunning to see that the "democratic and freedom-loving" USA is arresting a CNN-crew before actually arresting the murderer of  George Floyd.

I could be wrong, they may of only been detained. Who knows. But yes, starting to like Hong Kong lmao.
For everyone who is not aware, the violent rioters forced Minneapolis Police to abandon their police station, and then burned it down.

The issue with Twitter fact-checking aside from Trump's attacks is that they are riding the line of a publisher and a platform in legal terms. Twitter and most social media sites act as platforms so they are not liable for the content people post. When Twitter decides to moderate the content of the speech, aside from illegal shit or stuff like that, they become closer to a publisher and become liable for their users' content.

Aside from that, the news reporting surrounding the riots highlights how biased the media is. It's either a protest with some random violence or a riot and nothing in between. They are really causing change by attacking local businesses, many of which are likely owned by African-Americans. The same thing happened in Ferguson. African-American man was shot so they burned down and looted African-American owned businesses. Great logic, right?

The riots are not contained to Minneapolis and that's the issue with the outrage culture we have. BLM protestors blocked off a freeway in California. CHP responded and was attacked. If you find the video, it's hilarious. They smash the windows of a cruiser and one guy hops on the hood. As the cop drives away, the guy jumps off the car and fucking face plants into the freeway. It's to be expected in California, though. They already face massive shortages of police officers as city mayors in the Democrat-controlled areas heavily restrict police powers and automatically side against the police during controversies, which obviously angers cops.

The cops will be charged soon, but the riots are definitely going to continue. Instead of protesting peacefully and trying to cause change as the effective protests of the Civil Rights Movement did, they are raiding police stations, smashing the cash registers at Target, and burning down their own businesses. Hopefully, Trump nationalizes the National Guard and puts an end to the riots.

From the video I've seen, it looks like a miscommunication between state police administration and the officers on the ground. They were authorized to cover the riots by the higher-ups, but the cops on the scene did not know and they were in the streets when cops were clearing them. They have been released now.

It's also much easier to arrest someone who is on the street during a riot than after the fact when they are deciding on charges. My thoughts is that the city DA office is deciding what charges to bring the officers up on. They are probably doing interviews with people and gathering the evidence since they need to choose the right charge or it won't hold up in court. They can't go super aggressive and pursue murder in the 2nd degree and then downgrade it to another charge if it falls through at trial. They have one chance and they need to make it stick.

For instance, you might hear somebody say “If you control the head, you control the body.” That is entirely true, sometimes, a grab of the neck can be used to appropriately take down an actively resisting suspect.

However, not for eight minutes. Not even for a whole minute.

Though luckily there also are a bunch of other ways to control the head to then control the rest of the body. We (in The Netherlands) are very discouraged to use any techniques on the neck-area and/or kneeling on someone's neck the way the officer did. It would really only be proportionate in this situation (or... well, basically any other situation) when applied to the side of someone's (upper)face-area or on top of someone's back (with restraint to the use of force, of course).

All in all, what happened there was a very bad and heartbreaking thing and something that could have been prevented big time.
