I'd agree, but the community want to talk about administrative bias.

If the VTOL situation was 'not a thing', why does it need to be made any more clearer in the staff guidelines? It's literally listed as a point of abuse in the report instructions ;)

Because the staff member thought that it gave no significant advantage compared to other methods that were available.

That was then clarified by the changes to the guidelines.

If I recall, Blackdog didn't even know the admin abuse examples that they existed when PaulB messaged him (Again from what I recall), rather than accepting the policy he strongly disagreed with it and argued it shouldn't be a thing. As a result, it wasn't because it gave no significant advantage, but it was the fact that he didn't even know it existed in the first place.

Well, in that case, you must be right.

Let's get back onto the subject at hand. The subject of this thread.
Shame there isn't a thread for input about admin bias to keep this one on topic, right?

Hehe, it really strikes me to see such flimsy arguments from staff members ;), I think I am done talking because it is absolutely pointless, and this issue will continue to undermine this community from many aspects.

That's a standard forum warning? For some reason, I'm reminded on another post on the topic.

And one from Noble.

They seem to then view this as a staff member is 'out to get them' and has a bias when they get treated differently from a player that works to improve the community as opposed to tearing it down. I really can't tell if the reaction is a ploy or they're just generally that stupid.

If you treat staff like crap do you honestly expect them to try to help you right away? Trying to be edgy on the forums or in-game just ends up looking immature and staff will most likely treat you as such. Their job is to keep the server clean, not be your babysitter.

I saw the recent PR with '#fumukubias' and even when I was an admin I would have never given a ban or blacklist for the actions recorded, and I'm not in or associated with any clans.

There are plenty of people that have some growing up to do. Owning up to your actions is far more mature than crying wolf.

You can appeal forum warnings in the appeal permanent warnings section.

lets say a staff member done it... no warning just a good old 'dont do it again lol'

I do see a point of how bias leaks between players and staff, and it's completely destructive. I mean I was a member of FUMUKU in like 2012, I nearly wasn't promoted to admin due to Grub's bias. He had a grudge for literally no other reason besides the fact I was in a rival clan. He revealed this after I got the position, and after we had been talking for a while. So yes, bias can leak from player to admins.

But I think that the above example is probably rare, and would be even more rare if admins once promoted weren't allowed to be in clans.

Excuse me? Don't blatantly lie, at least say the actual reasons why I didn't like you.

I didn't like you due to the way you disrespected your own clan mates via radio when we had your radio frequency. You looked down on other players that didn't have of an extensive RP count, and explicitly stopped specific newer players from attending these massive RP events that you had admins hold. Even though these RPs effected gameplay and more across the map, thus making it hard for these newer players to play, let alone learn from the seasoned Vets how to play.

If you want to say I had a "grudge, at least say something that's true instead of "omg fumoko, grub hates me cause of it". In all reality the one person I didn't like was Blackdog due to how the clan things went down, but thats the past. I really have no care to be dragging stuff from six years ago to now on a NEW COMMUNITY. Its time to get new material.

Since its been multiple years, lets open up to a new chapter about this bs. When FUMUKU was reopened on Fearless by Soul, (IM not here to get into this), I was given DISTINCT instructions to go to war by my superiors to increase the player base. This was to look for any and all reasons to go to war with them. I played along and tried to ignore it and faced repercussions due to this decision. The longer I delayed, the angrier they got which led to me becoming an "enemy" of them. I did all I could. So don't try to pull this "bias" bs on me, I don't have the patience to listen to it. Especially when the whole world above me turned against me because I didn't try to antagonize some clan. What I will say is I used them to boost activity and figured out how I wanted my clan to be. I didn't want to touch certain RP principles that FUMUKU did. I'm sure I didn't love FUMUKU during that time, however I sure didn't care enough to go slug at them with my superiors heavily encouraging me to do so.

The fact of the matter is, I took blows for people that I was "bias" toward and caused havoc upon my own clan by standing up for what I believed in.

Edit: You know what its like having your clan hunted by your superiors? Trying to explain to your friends that we may get into something we can't do ingame? It sucks having to explain it and don't wish it upon anyone.

Clap Clap Clap Clap

Meant that in a good way.
lol "Don't blatantly lie"

Well you never explained the "real reasons" to me. I vividly remember you telling me that basically the only reason you didn't want me to be an admin was due to my clan affiliation. You told me in Teamspeak soon after I got admin.

Perhaps you were doubling back as to not point out other reasons you didn't like me seeing as we were both admins at the time. I still do tend to believe it had something to due with my being in FUMUKU, it was no secret you weren't a big fan of the players in FUMUKU.

It was pretty hard to quantify the hatred between FUMUKU and SAA but in the height of the war it was extremely intense and emotionally driven, so I honestly have a difficult time believing it affected nothing.

I think a lot of the people now don't really understand how extreme the situation was, there were literally fights daily in OOC, in-game, I mean during the "War" it was ridiculous. Even with a consciously unbiased standpoint, it's nearly impossible to eliminate bias in tense situations. Also I'm over all the shit, so I understand with the whole idea of not dragging old news to a new community, but the whole point is about bias from the community/clans - I'm over the drama but it's still important to recognize the history that led us to the point we're at.
