It's not exactly "custom" if you're just removing a couple buildings in hammer. I don't think you understood where I'm coming from, I was just suggesting that it would be possible to contact the map author and ask permission to remove a few buildings ourselves in Hammer to create building space for players.

People are less likely to join (with the ranking above, they're notified they don't have the map, and even if they join after at, they still have to download it).

There are only two ways of getting past that.
Having a community so big that it forces past that issue, or making a map so popular that most people have it already.

Could be a good idea to refresh the map more, might reduce build up over time and lag which is good...and gives diversity for day / night.
Could also stop people just contra whoring
