Honestly never saw 45people on when truenorth came out. I came on played for less than an hour and got bored when it launched because I really didn't enjoy the map and the lack of RP

i did. even when truenorth was out for like a good 2 months it was getting an average of 40 people.

Strange I'd like to see your evidence since my evidence doesn't support your statement there.

To address the driving issue (as well as a couple of other topics raised in the meeting), I've created threads to discuss them amongst the team and we'll hopefully find a way forwards. It's not being brushed aside at all.

There was more than 40 people on consistently at the release, but let's just end this cause it's not what this thread is for.

  • Spawning car on top of self
  • Getting out of car and getting stuck in wall/falling out of world
  • All other car bugs
  • And all the other stuff that gets you killed for no reason

Great point.

Easiest way to achieve this is make it so death consequences only happen when you're directly killed by another player. That's trivial to do and helps us to avoid the edge cases. Would that suffice?

Could also add different types of consequences for different deaths when we eventually add more skills, but that won't come for a while and needs more thought.

Gotta hand it to you guys, I was wrong. I didn't think the map was a major issue but it clearly was, so good on the team for taking action and changing the map. I hope this success stays for the long-run.

Hell, I know this map increased the player count and shit but I see little change in terms of RP. Still the same old cops and robbers from what I've seen and I'm yet to see a shop set up on Main Street.

The few passive RPs I've seen have been either my rooftop restaurant, Aryen seems to have made something and Markus did his carparks and railways but that's about it. Mind you, only been playing a little while and irl stuff has stopped me a little. Seems like a lot of people have squirreled their way to another end of the map and grown weed (as per usual) and now the same old story is happening but on a fresh new map. The inauguration was meant to have a dinner party but certain people spoiled it so much that the dinner was cancelled and all of the politicians which hadn't even made any policies yet hid in the senate for 2 hours odd as the same people came back again and again.

People are complaining about a dying server, but every single passiveRP that comes along seems to get either spoiled and burnt down or just has the entire tone lowered by aggroRP. People who do aggroRP complain about restrictive rules, but the enjoyment of other players who don't like "bang bang shooty shooty" RP is at stake if they can't do what they enjoy without every "mafia" clan which acts like terrorists breathing down their neck.

That statement is entirely false and you know it, the hostaging had nothing to do with the inauguration roleplay and wouldn't have affected it one bit. It's not our fault that you decided hide inside because of no reason, no one knew that he was hostaged until the cops found him so don't know why you hid from nothing. You also say you had to hide inside for "2 hours odd" when I quite clearly saw you guys standing outside just before the cops came which then ended in about 5 minutes.

I stand by my point. It's the standard of RP that attracts people, and the standard is slipping. I used the inauguration as that was a recent one that sprung to mind, however there's more. Once, I was running a restaurant and someone came in, tried to extort me for $50k, I said no because I won't earn that type of money in a year, so they threw 5 molotovs and kept razing my dupe every time I replaced it. Another time, I kept being hostaged because a guy "was bored".

People also rave about unique RPs, but never seem to show up to them. Gun shops and food shops are always being done because people have to show up to continue aggroRP. If there's mandatory attendance, people show up, do the bare minimum and get the fuck out. Someone wants to run a tattoo parlour? Tough shit, you can't buy something from them and use it in RP, not going. Want to run a small bank? Prepare to get robbed 24/7 and keep closing to repair the dupe!

Want aggroRP to stop being restricted? Prove you can behave and set a high tone for new players.

Personally for me, I try to make those dealer jobs unique experiences. Yes they are required and rely on Aggro RP, but it changes a lot if you say have a POS system or have a waiting room while you create the pharmaceuticals. If the Passive RP has no real gain or benefit except just you having fun (which should be IMO what you do it for) then people will try to make it beneficial for them. This really just brings up the issue of the systems and tools we have rather than player action.

Hate to go off topic, but you weren't even there so you didn't see shit lmao

As for being back on topic, I think that RP hasn't really been that much of a problem, literally any time I've driven down main street there's been actual players everywhere and usually at least one passive dupe. It could use improvements but overall we're doing well so far.

There has been a recent problem, I've noticed, with passive events getting crashed, as Monty pointed out. Kimpow tried to do a fishing event, that got crashed, we tried to do a governor inauguration, not only did we have to have unreal amounts of security, but it still got crashed. What are staff going to do about it is what I want to know?
