Would encourage the use of public transportation. This could even make robberies at gas stations a thing since they could be pretty profitable.

But I'd suggest that there be a limit on how much people can charge for gas because having to pay thousands just to top up a tank would just put people off this whole idea completely.

When asked, I've allowed this on the condition that only one petrol station is affected at a time, that mechanics are always on-site to do repairs/modifications that the blocked stations would be able to do, and that the pricing for it is not higher than that of default stations.

I think this would be a neat concept - with a maximum usage fee that is within reason. 
I've seen FUMUKU make use of this strategy however I could see this being replicated by other individuals/groups. It would be interesting to possibly see some new organizations/clans being formed in this industry and how they monetize the process (Usage Fee / Subscription) and how they can potentially take what is currently a stale and bland spot on the map - The Gas Station - and turn it into a RP Hotspot that might incorporate different roles.

If they charge that much buy petrol canisters etc. Or have a max price limit in place

I fail how to see that as an issue? Your examples would increase use of public transit and the lack of "easy access" (assuming that is what you're going for) would increase the number of foot patrols and non-motorized forms of police work. Not to mention this would also open up players to want to be smarter and travel as partners.

I was a bit sceptical at first, but there are a lot of good points being brought up here.


The biggest problem I see is someone D/C'ing or alike and we end up with a prop blocked gas station.
A short while might not seem too bad, but we're talking about a map where there is always someone at the gas station. Having it be blocked for even 5-10 minutes would create a lot of chaos.
