Experienxcing the same problems. Now it has started throwing me to desktop without giving any crash file or "hl2.exe has stopped working" notification.

There is no matter what you do, it's pretty much of being lucky to get thrown back to dekstop. I joined the server, didn't even spawn in and I returned to desktop. Then again some days I don't crash at all. Sometimes I crash after 30minutes, random.

My situation hasn't improved and I cannot isolate what the trigger is. Yesterday it was searching for a prop by name that caused a crash to desktop. Sometimes I'm not doing anything. Sometimes I get a "lag" delay (it's not server lag, that I do know) when I tab back in near contraband or other sound/light related entities.

While I tend to get around an hour, some players don't get more than 10-15 minutes, some even less than that. I missed an error message on my last crash to desktop, but it said something about informing a developer before that message also closed.

What are you inserting when searching for a prop?
How many suggestion do you estimate you have?

@"Sours" I was searching for phys at the time, trying to track down a physgun prop for propminge snow. Not sure about the suggestion question. Going to go on a limb and guess that you mean't subscription? Just under 700, but I used to have 1500 before I chopped down and the game generally was fine, just took 3 minutes to load.

Memory access violation doesn't mean there's anything wrong with your memory, it means GMod is trying to access memory that it shouldn't. This can happen by freeing memory in use or with bad pointers (and other things of course). If your memory went bad then there is a good you would not be able to start up the game (memory corruption will lead to file system corruption very quickly)

That said, there's an overwhelming chance that the LL dev's will not be able to fix the crash at all as most crashes have to do with the compiled side of the engine (for example, a recent batch of crashes that are still unpatched involves shooting certain cars. They said they patched one about applying the bullet hole decal on cars causing the crash but AFAIK their fix did not work)

Follow the instructions here and post it on their GitHub issue tracker and it might get fixed:
