Had doc restart it for me once and got on I think the next few hours and it was like it was on for three days.
It would make sense to then schedule restarts automatically so it never gets to the stage of 'NEEDING' a restart - according to game tracker from 8-11am GMT is our least populated time, often with under 10 players on. After further stat analysis, would it not make sense to automatically restart the server at the period which effects the least people, so that at peak times a restart is never needed (except for perhaps updates), thus disrupting people as little as possible?
I understand it may still disrupt those whom are playing at that time, but in terms of actual hours lost playing, this would be the best time to do it. This could be scheduled every day or every other day dependent on how it effects performance.
I just feel strongly against non-scheduled restarts as it will interfere with RP more - oftentimes poor performance on the server will result in a restart where that may not be the cause of the lag etc; whereas scheduling it daily may result in a reduction in RP in the hour leading up to the restart, however this again effects a very small number of people.
I think manual scheduling it the best option in terms of efficiency. Would this work in yours/others eyes? I'm sure i've missed something out that perhaps makes this less viable than vote restarts?
Scheduled restarts are best for the main RP server. For build, there is no RP just building. So, havinga time when you can just vote for a restart seems better than trying to schedule a time to do it, as someone may build in those time and fid it extremely inconvenient for the restart to happen during his building. Not to mention if we have a vote, there will be more awareness instead of just some text in chat counting down.

Honestly saw the title and in my mind assumed it was regarding main server. Somehow missed the build part despite it being mentioned like 5 times, lol...I need some sleep

Both Main and Build have an Automatic Restart Script now.
Since few people go on build, it restarts every ~6 hours.
Is this suggestion still required?
