Explain your suggestion, in detail: Have players be able to vote to restart the build server by majority rule while on the build server. And when the restart is passed by majority rule, it gives everyone 2 minutes to save their current builds before restarting.
Explain why the suggestion should be implemented: I have tried to build on the build server many times, and everytime I do, it's extremely laggy and unable to build on. With this, no matter if you are the only one on or there with 10 people, you can always vote to restart the server so you can build in no lag bliss.
I think an auto-restart system would be better, giving notices in advance (i.e 15 mins till restart, 5, at 2 minutes a full screen popup comes up) -- Also how long does it take from restarting to players being able to play again? I presume it wouldn't take all that long but if it is around the 10 minute mark then certainly should be done when the playerbase is lower (i.e early hours of morning. )

Nah because that's kinda annoying when you're in the middle of building something

Please read the thread, it states you would get 2minuites to save all your build sofare

No, because it doesn't save everything - E.g Colours etc. A voting system would be easier.
No need to be patronising now, I did read the entire comment :P

But what if I want to build in the middle of the night and don’t feel like going through a restart? The advantage to voting is that you can restart whenever and don’t have to wait till the middle of the night for the server to be stable.
How often does the server actually need to be restarted?( is it every few hours or every other day etc?)

Usually takes a few days to get really bad, an auto restart every 24 hrs would definitely suffice.
I'm more inclined to have it on a timer rather than a vote personally.

Had doc restart it for me once and got on I think the next few hours and it was like it was on for three days.

It would make sense to then schedule restarts automatically so it never gets to the stage of 'NEEDING' a restart - according to game tracker from 8-11am GMT is our least populated time, often with under 10 players on. After further stat analysis, would it not make sense to automatically restart the server at the period which effects the least people, so that at peak times a restart is never needed (except for perhaps updates), thus disrupting people as little as possible?
I understand it may still disrupt those whom are playing at that time, but in terms of actual hours lost playing, this would be the best time to do it. This could be scheduled every day or every other day dependent on how it effects performance.
I just feel strongly against non-scheduled restarts as it will interfere with RP more - oftentimes poor performance on the server will result in a restart where that may not be the cause of the lag etc; whereas scheduling it daily may result in a reduction in RP in the hour leading up to the restart, however this again effects a very small number of people.
I think manual scheduling it the best option in terms of efficiency. Would this work in yours/others eyes? I'm sure i've missed something out that perhaps makes this less viable than vote restarts?
