What is your honest opinion on gun control? (Not trying to start a hide debate)

Gun control doesn't work - some may say to look at their country for proof but that's because their small European village (country) has a population likely less than one of the fifty states here in the United States. Because of this, statistics are also not comparable.

If people want to get a firearm, they'll find a way to get one. For the most part, these weapons aren't being purchased through gun shows and shops but rather through private dealers and from street connects. I'd think that the most logical solution would be to have a better system for identifying the owner of a firearm, similar to a VIN system for a vehicle - but making it not easily removed and possible an internal electronic identifier of some sorts.
