What about you guys being more transparent with how people get Mod or how people would go about putting themselves out there to get it?

Why don't you guys accept recommendations from the playerbase? look who is popular amongst the players, for example @Project, then once a person has x amount of players recommending them or once a staff member suggests them in the admin forums start reviewing them for a moderator role?

If they were to reveal their requirements, it would likely lead to people developing 'fake' personalities, where they put on an act to be someone who they aren't in reality. Intentionally or unintentionally, it would change people's personalities artificially.

Being a staff member isn't a popularity contest, and it would be even harder for the newly recruited moderator to ban the very same people who nominated them for a staff role.

Think about staff that were Teachers before staff, would it have been hard for them to punish the people that +Supported their application?

Not really, or if so then not to the same extent at all. There's usually quite a while before somebody becomes a moderator from a teacher role, and even if it's a short interval, it's a change of position which wasn't directly caused by the support for their teacher application.

On that logic if I supported someone for Moderator they may be hesitant to ban me, but once they become Admin and an interval has passed that goes away?

Moderators and administrators are both members of staff, whilst teachers aren't. There's a big difference.

The principle of supporting someone in order to obtain a rank is still there.

That's why I'm against community nominations for staff roles? Perhaps you should read what you're writing.

If you support somebody's application for teacher, you're helping them to get that teacher role, not their moderator role if they go on to become a moderator.

Some guy just prop-pushed half of the server to death.

It's prime-time on friday evening and there's not a single staff member online out of one which is afk and farming hours. How comes???

I don't record. I am here to RP, not to be the PR king. Unfortunately sometimes it is better to record, as in this case.
