I agree with what Soviet said, even in the small space that is given, activities can still be created to make the jails less a small AFK room and to add more realism into the imprisonment system

Idea: - Change jail times to be longer
         - Add more activity for the jails, maybe laundry work that puts money towards a work-related early release

Why?: Currently, if you send someone to jail, they're in a box for 1-15 minutes complaining how all cops don't rp and how their sentence should be shorter. If this update were to be added, then the prisoners could actually work towards a shorter jail sentence or the likes, meaning they might spend less time complaining. And adding something to make them do would mean it would be less unreasonable to add say, 20 minutes as the maximum jail time?

The idea seems a little ambitious and disproportionate. What I mean by that is its a big change but a small feature. It seems like the laundry thing and working related aspects should be a part of a bigger overhaul. Maybe brainstorm a few ideas in a  discussion thread then make a suggestion based on the outcome of that

Ok so this sounds cool. Have washer, dryer, table, basket, and clothes. Take clothes and put in basket, dump clothes in washer (1min to wash), next take clothes out and put in dryer (1min to dry), put dryed clothes on table, and fold clothes(30secs to fold). Removes 1 min of jail time.

I also would like to see more Time Intervals Rather than 2, 5, 10, 15 maybe just add the ability under the Current Sentences add Custom where it can be anything between 1-20

There are, /warrant the time can be set to 0.<number> which will give seconds

But, -support for extending the time for any longer

And it would be nice to see jobs like laundry
Craftsmanship
License plate making

It would be really nice to see this then to be expanded onto the SMA system, making it faster when you repeat these actions, so building benches/chairs would be faster so for example, moving the time from 1 minute to 30 seconds.

i like the idea but it seems like it could be a bigger project and a huge prison overhaul, plus I don't think the current prison is really built for anything except people sitting in boxes...

This won't solve the problem of people going afk while in jail; people don't care about playing while jailed. Don't even think that going afk while jailed is a problem infact. Extending the time will just be annoying too. No.

1. Jail is tiny.

2. People would rather be AFK.

Jail is not meant to be enjoyed. If people are complaining about being in jail, we must be doing something right.

If this was to happen, it would have to be required, repetitive work. If you wanna go AFK in jail, go for it but your time won’t go down. Do the required tasks and your time decreases.

This is only feasible in a bigger jail though.

I like this idea more than the original. If the work was mandatory for the timer to go down it would make going AFK when jailed pointless, making the person stay and rp during their sentencing. Although if your gonna make things mandatory in jail a Jail Guard(s) position would be a good thing to have since there's never a cop watching the jails even with a full police force. And another point made by mista Gun is that the jails are extremely small on the Rockford map so there would need to be some thought put into where these jobs for prisoners would take place along with somewhere for the Jail Guard do go so there not walking in a circle board out of their minds. The idea just needs some filling out. +suppert

I’m currently mentally shagged cause of revision, but I knew I would forget the idea if I left it until after the exam so I posted this basic idea:
@"Gungranny"‍ I get if people hate jails that’s a good thing BUT if we leave them idle then they’ll be more likely to bitch in OOC
@Kvatch‍ Yeah I have big ideas for this but struggle to put them into specifics, making the post rather bare

@Montyfatcat

Let them. OOC bitching is part of LL’s day. If they won’t bitch about jails they’ll bitch about something else.
