Suggestion Type:
In-Game
Explain your suggestion, in detail:
I suggest that we improve the experience of being imprisoned by implementing things to do while in prison rather than to just AFK the time away.
Due to these changes, I believe that the time limits of sentences could be increased (as it would allow players to work off their time while in prison.) My suggestion would be time sentences of 5/15/30 instead of the current 2/5/10/15.
Things I believe could be fun to do in prison include, but are not limited to:
- Gambling
Play dice with your cell/prison mates and win (or lose) some money. (Assuming you've bought them in the market. Automatically smuggled with you if you go to prison.)
- Prison Break Attempt
Interactive event which allows you to use the shovel to dig your way out of the prison in X amount of time. Just make sure there aren't any cops nearby or they'll be sure to catch you, extending your sentence.
- Working Time off your Sentence
Allow players to cook food, create items or shovel dirt to work time off their sentence. The proceeds of the materials/items created would be given to the government (see: President) and in exchange the prisoner would get a reduced time off their sentence. (Say 1/2 the sentence off for every X amount of items, depending on how long/hard difficult it is to create that item.)
Explain why the suggestion should be implemented:
As it stands, being sent to prison is essentially a short-time ban from playing the game. Unless you have friends who bail you out (which you would most likely only get in contact with by meta-gaming), there is little you can do while in prison.
I believe that the prison experience should be part of the game, a part of the RP. The major reason why people rather die than go to prison is because it literally makes you unable to play the game. This is simply a boring concept and I see no reason to punish players who break in-game, in-character laws with what is essentially an OOC punishment.
TL;DR: It's part of the game and a part of RP, why shouldn't it be fun for players to play the game?
