What the actual hell

It might have just failed to pass staff review, but Internet forgot to post that it failed due to lack of staff support.

due to lack of community support

'but Internet forgot to post that it failed due to lack of staff support.'

I'm not Internet, but that's my guess.

From what I’ve heard, it usually take 2-4 days depending on majority.

We’ve got a pretty quick turnaround as of recent due to some systems Doc has implemented- generally is a few days unless is an idea that requires deport discussion

Rule Britannia and that.

May be an issue with the system due to you having multiple options instead of just -Support and +Support? It couldn't recognize which was which

The issue is, the tools are not yet perfect. When there's upwards of 30 vehicle suggestions that need moving, I don't have time to go and review them all. The tool stated there was a lack of support, so it got denied. I'll be working to improve this so it doesn't happen again, but we've got a lot on our priority list at the moment, I'm afraid.

I'm more than happy to rectify any issues, but passive-aggressive posts on the staff Q/A doesn't help. Contacting me (Steam, Forum PM, Discord) does.

@Doctor Internet

Lack of devs is understandable. I have hashed out ideas that can fix some of the jobs, though most of it will require internal (staff) discussion on them as some of them change some of the present content as it is. If yall ever want my thoughts, give me a place to put them other than the suggestions thread. Reasoning is, some of them are still just ideas without anything code to back them.

My chef purposal has files to back it, but I have to go in and tinker with them, as we discussed. Once I have isolated the parts I need and can get them at least semi function (as in working but not linked to the L2 GM yet) I'll throw up a suggestion and would be more than willing to donate the revised files even if you don't take them, because you could always rework or use it as a basis for a similar project.

Something I feel that could be entirely possible, given it will take a bit of work from your team, is to isolate different sections of code, for instance ( A set of files that are associated to how a single weapon exists, functions, ect.) that has the field values filled in with stuff like "Insert prop name here" "this is for the w_" "this is for the p_" "this is ammo".

Now I'm sure no one has the time to do all of that, so I'm going to try to comment out everything I understand inside whatever I do, so that the next guy can understand and perhaps take what I made and make something else that operates on the same foundation. Kinda like how Druglabs and Moneyprinters were built on the exact same foundation to one another. You could even make the printers drop an ent instead of ticking internal money, which means that you can turn a printer into anything that produces anything on a timer. I'm sure you guys already know that, but what could be done with this knowledge could lead to further development without as much coding.

It's cookie cutter-ish, and you'll get a sea of shit ideas, but you'll always somehow find a gem or two.

I'm trying and I have no really great coding skills. I hope more people decide to help out to. Its better than complaining.

Thanks, I'm out this conversation to try and be the change.

Q: Are Steam Messages considered related to LL Services when you are talking about LL Services?

Reference:
<https://limelightgaming.net/forums/thread-18303.html>

Quote:You are talking about LL services using steam. It counts. It doesn't matter the medium when you discuss the server and its staff it can relate.

I personally disagree with this statement as in the past it was well-known that these means of communication were in no way related to the server and therefore any private conversations held using them were not able to be used to restrict access to the services. In the current terms of service - there is nothing mentioned about this.

The following quote from a staff member, made a bold statement that no matter the medium - when you discuss the server and its staff it can relate. I think this is a dangerous statement to make and while it may relate - there is nothing to say that this means it can be used to restrict someone from their access to the LL services.

If I talk sh*t about a staff member in a private conversation on Steam to another LL member, who then goes and shares the screenshot with a staff member - am I facing the possibility of being punished for administrative disrespect or even threatening a staff member even though it was a private conversation between two members? Why is this any different when the person is directly talking to a staff member? Are they being disrespectful? Remove them. Block them. But by all means, don't go and take it upon yourselves to completely take away their access to services that they have spent money on, dedicated time on, etcetera.

You shouldn't be making up this idea that something beyond the LL services, being in-game, teamspeak or discord, is somehow still within the realm of limelight's reach. While we may dislike Zharkan, and certainly their attitude towards staff members... what did they do beyond sending some nasty (but harmless) steam messages? And yes, they are harmless. The staff member whom made the statement first quoted in this post mentioned he felt threatened for himself, his wife and three kids? From a steam message? This person didn't dox you, collect your IP information, post photos of your children, nor does he know your real name. And yet you feel threatened? Come on. That's a stretch.

Not only are steam messages unrelated to the services and therefore the terms of services - they are extremely unreliable and hence why they weren't acceptable in the past. They are easily tampered with and there is no such thing as Steam Chatlogs and there isn't a unique identification method that can confirm the identity of a user from a screenshot/chat and thus I can easily photoshop a conversation on Steam, such as another member threatening to take down the server and release this screenshot to a staff member. What would happen?

I'm not supporting Zharkan - but I'm certainly not supporting issuing punishments based on private conversations on Steam and while this person may have displayed a previous anti-staff tone in-game as well the punishment was being based off these private conversations which, as mentioned, aren't related to LL.

What do you think? Are LL users liable now beyond the services? Should we be wary of what we say outside of the server and to whom we say it to?

Sounds fairly similar to what happens in American schools. Any communication outside of school that relates to the school by a hair is punishable in school. For example, you meme someone on social media that's a student at the school. It's all just a jest, but the school suspends you for bullying (not gonna talk about American 'bullying' right now tho).

Schools feel the need to punish you for an action that doesn't relate to the school in any meaningful way. Seems the same for LL now. Steam conversations that relate to LL in any way at all are now covered by LL rules.

Limelight has the right to terminate your account at any point for pretty much anything.

Think of us like a shop or restaurant. We provide a service for you, if you are screaming profanity outside of our restaurant, you are not welcome in. If you are screaming profanity in our restaurant we will ask you to leave. If we hear you screaming profanity at someone else's restaurant, we might not want to let you come into our restaurant.

It might be wise to specify in our ToS that we have the right to terminate your account at any point, but frankly it's implied.

@"Nevy"

I looked at your link. If Blackdog didn't ask for the user's permission, he is in direct violation of the forum rules.

Image, Signature and Avatar Rules

1. Do not post any pornographic content.
2. Graphic gore content is not allowed unless previous approval is given.
3. Do not post huge images. Signatures must be within a maximum 600x367 radius.
4. Do not post any offensive/hate speech material.
5. Do not post others' content and claim it as your own.
6. Steam messages need permission from the other person before being posted.
7. High resolution images should be posted as links.

Rule 6 states permission from the other person is required BEFORE posting the screenshots. This is why my recent post in the offtopic was removed, as the person I cited from the forums didn't have permission to post his picture.

Limelight Gaming has no ability to do anything with any information outside of it's "zone of control," else it can find itself legally liable under the ToS of whatever medium it's attempting to enforce itself upon.

@Vauld

It's already in the ToS. It states: Limelight Gaming may disable your user ID and password at Limelight Gaming’s sole discretion without notice or explanation.

And has since at least May 3rd 2017 (The last noted edit of ToS according to the bottom of the page), if not way earlier than that. It's under "acceptible use" ToS.
