Have you ever visited a Muslim majority country? I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say no. Same goes for a lot of people on this thread. If you had, you'd know that the majority of people you'd meet would be just as friendly as in any part of the world. At no point did they want to cut my head off because I didn't believe what they believed, or stone my mother because she wasn't covering herself in a hijab. You can hardly call the religion backwards when your generalistic and ignorant views are far more backwards.

If you want to create your opinion from what others say rather than forming your own views from actual experience, I don't think you're in any position to criticise religion; as that is pretty much the same thing. If you think Islam is the cause of all issues, take a step back and research the IRA, KKK, and all the other radical groups that have formed from different religions.

Religion is a topic of a lot of emotions and feelings. People will always disagree on this topic, and look at it from certain perspectives. While I understand most of these, there is no need to hate others for what they belief. Certain things countries do, and how faith, and religion is abused is not alright.

I've always been of the opinion that faith is a powerful tool, and it can be used for inspiration and motivation. But it's also commonly abused by those who seek power. This happens everywhere. However, I respect those who have a certain faith, as long as they do not force it upon others, or harm others because of it. And in the past all religions have done so, and even now they do.

This doesn't make it bad, people will always abuse whatever they can to gain power, money, and influence over others. But there are also a lot of people who regain hope, inspiration, motivation because of faith, those who might not be able to persist through certain events did because of it.

What Trump has done is not justifiable, it's shameless, but other countries with different religions have done so too, yet this does not make this any worse. If you look at all the harm western countries have done during invasions and occupations for close to no reason. Innocent lives where lost on both sides, different views on both sides. So we can either continue to call each other out, and hate, or you realize that we are all human, that there is no good and bad. Let everyone belief as they please, but when it gets to the point of forcing it on others, and hurting others intervention is needed. But it's not fair to judge an entire nation/country/religion on what a certain group did.

So everyone take a breather, calm down, and unwind. You have the right to belief as you please, but there are better ways to convey a message. And quite frankly, I am getting tired of these endless arguments and fights on the internet between two extremes.

I've been to both the States and Turkey. I've met kind, and amazing people from both of those countries online, as well as in person. We cannot generalize an entire nation by the action of some. What we should do as humans is stand up for each others rights, ensure that everyone belief as they please, but make sure that there is no abuse, that there are not those who will use faith as a weapon, to sieze power, to ensure that all humans will be granted their basic human rights. Strive for less hate, and a better world. We all have our feelings, and emotions, everyone is entitled to their opinions and thoughts, but go about it in a better way then just shouting.

Islamic extremism is currently the reason behind the majority of religious based terrorist attacks, yes, that is true. However, every mass shooting is designed to cause terror and every mass shooter, even an American born white male, is a terrorist.

Unless the website you've listed can source the claims of the terrorist attacks to official government reports of said incidents, I will take what is there with a pinch of salt. Now, there is a reason as to why radical Islamic extremism is currently at it's highest. Syria, Iraq, Libya etc. are all currently in or coming out of wars. There is little to no Police force therefore criminals (including terrorists) can operate without fear of repercussions. Do you honestly think crime levels wouldn't shoot up in any country if there were no Police to stop those looking to harm others? Even that website shows that it isn't Muslims vs. the world as there are countless attacks on mosques and towards other Muslims. They are terrorist groups who will do anything to assert their dominance and show their power.

It's one thing to put together a list, but to actually implement a travel ban is another. Also, I do not get my news from CNN, Fox, or any American-based news outlet. They are some of the most bias corporations in the world that make even the UK's Daily Mail look politically neutral.

I'll start of by saying that I'm an atheist so I'm not fond of any religion as I feel the big majority of them has kept humanity away from progress and peace. 

Islam is a religion that got flaws like any religion, sure. What I haven't seen here though is other religions being put under the spotlight.

It seems people have forgotten that Christianity did something called the uh... Crusades. It's also not long ago since Christians slaughtered native people in Africa, America and other places to spread the word of God. People have always found an excuse to kill other people who are different.
Sure, Islam has extremists like ISIS but Christianity have extremists like the KKK. ISIS is to Islam what the KKK is to Christianity.

Christians don't identify themselves with KKK and muslims don't identify themselves with ISIS. It's as simple as that.

Anyways, this is a news-thread, not a discussion-thread. We've had similar threads before and they've all gone to shit.
