Freezes and crashes at receiving server info.

Alright, so I've discussed this with @Project and couldn't really decide on another path other than this one:

- Remove all launch parameters from your game, including -condebug and any -dxlevel parameters.

- Navigate to your base GMOD directory.

- Execute the FactoryReset-GMOD.bat file. This will attempt to clean up your GMOD install, getting rid of any addons, settings, scripts or any locally saved dupes. You may need to run the program as an administrator.

- Wait for the program to finish doing it's thing. It should give you updates in the window.

- Relaunch GMOD and allow all subscriptions to redownload. This should allow the Limelight content packs to download.

- Close GMOD then reinstall the map from this link. This should go into your "maps" folder.

- Put the -condebug parameter back into your launch options.

- Attempt to rejoin the server.

Take your time doing these steps.

Now gets stuck at: Downloading materials/partical/debris1/debris.vmt

Still getting stuck on a file which isn't even there, odd.. have you reapplied the "don't allow custom files from servers" thing in the multiplayer tab of Options?

Yes, Still crashing. gmod stopps responding when downloaing the file

Whenever I put the"don't allow custom files from servers" it crashes when it says "retreiving server info"

Hmmm, again while you have the custom files blocked, can you make sure Model quality is set to "High"

And you aren't tabbing out of the window or anything?

Still no joy with model on high. just freezes at "retrieving server info"

no tabbing out, only when its been there for about 5 mins and fps don't change at all, then message appears saying "Gmod has stopped responding" tried waiting longer and still no joy
