If I am honest, I somewhat understand why it was done like this but...

Why ask for feedback only on the server (in terms of the panel) if you know there are people avoiding the server?

@Disastrous‍, you say that staff complain too much but didn't you post a player report on someone a week or two ago because they were trying to help someone in OOC, so you complained that they were metagaming?

Actually, if you took the time to read my response rather than obviously fending for your friend, you'd probably realize that most of - if not all of what I'm saying, is absolutely right.

You're certainly twisting my words to make yourself sound better though, which I also expect nothing less from you either - I didn't say the staff complain too much, what I said was.

Quote:Mind you, complaining over serious roleplay that went 100% smoothly and respectfully, in every sense.

It's okay though, I expect you all to defend each other because you cannot possibly get one over on anyone without teaming them.

You're right though, I did infact post a PR on someone who wouldn't stop metagaming, which by the way is entirely irrelevant to the situation on hand.

If serious RP events started again would people apply for them? As from what I've been told that was the reasoning why serious RP events were stopped.

I'm inclined to agree with Disastrous.

Any time the Givens are ever mentioned, and I say this as somebody who has a lot of time and love for Internet, lo and behold, Internet appears and deus ex machinas them out of the situation. Now, I'm not saying there's staff bias, of course not, but I think a lot of people are fucking sick of certain members of the community (not just the Givens) getting away with murder time and time again.

And if I was Ted Hastings,
 [Image: 1444442fdf5a20cc0195359a2b672eed.png]

As for the staff, Disastrous has kind of summed up my point better than I could. Too much micromanagement of the server, too much power abuse, but at the same time letting certain members of the community abuse the absolute shit out of the rules and every loophole in them.

I mean, let's be fair at this point, half of the staff team at this point are fucking scared to deal with the Givens. When I put a PR up on them a few weeks back for a completely valid break of the rules (surprise surprise they ended up getting away with it because the admin that finally did deal with it, Internet, made a "mistake" in his reply) and it went unreplied to for 3 days until I eventually had to actually message a member of staff to get things moved along. The staff don't WANT to deal with the Givens anymore, because it just turns into a complete shit-slinging match.

And as for the rest of the staff, yeah there are a few good, genuinely lovely, motivated staff whose minds are in the right place, but there's also a major activity problem. Staff themselves can't be arsed playing, nevermind the fucking senior staff (HR).

I imagine we could get quite a few people involved, I'd certainly be interested in applying if it came to be a thing.

We got a bunch of folk interested in Idaho State Government. Seeding + Evocity is a great short-term thing that we can do ASAP.

Hey,

I feel a bit worried this thread might get off-topic really quickly if people start addressing concerns pointed at certain individuals. I get that some members cause annoyances as well as staff.. But if people started pointing fingers at me in a public thread and put me on the spot like that, I wouldn’t feel too good about that.

These are concerns nonetheless, but I don’t think it’s needed to name people specifically. Being put on the spot on a public forum will most likely lead to emotional-filled responses or those that aren’t well-thought out. Said responses won't portray the right message in a way.

Perhaps a staff member can be appointed as a collection point of concerns that focus on a specific individual or group. Allow those wanting to, send a private message to said staff member so their concerns are acknowledged.

Sadly, people don’t change easily. You can point out their mistakes, but they’ll most likely not listen like you want them to. Let alone when you publicly call them out. I think we should focus on the problems that are able to be fixed quicker.

The community consist out of a diverse group of people. It’s a bit sad to see that we can’t all get along, but that’s nothing out of the ordinary. What does sadden me the most is the fact we allow ourselves to get so caught up in the shenanigans of others, that we feel the need to get frustrated.

I’m not a prime example of remaining cool-headed, but if we maybe all try to focus more on the positive too..  Then I think this community would be a little bit better already.

In my opinion, SeriousRP events got too far. Originally it had people have whitelisted spots for Police/SWAT/Gov and it got people wanting to get involved in more PassiveRP but then people who did the events after me started to add things such as Whitelisting Buildings which really broke RP especially if there was something there previously and they were told they had to move.

I would not apply, no. Mainly because most of these events were ruined by minges or turned out to be a disappointment, if not for the organizers, then for the partakers. See the Snowpiercer event.

I’m pretty sure these arguments are why people leave. We can’t have literally ONE good discussion without people jumping at each other’s neck.

Having finally went to sleep and being probably a lot more coherent than I was last night, I do have to say while I agree with that, I think that a lot of people in here are sharing their honest and frank opinions, myself included, that they feel are important and should have a right to do so.

I do want to say that I don't want to gang up on anybody and I do apologise if I have done that, but I think that this is a thread where people's opinions should and need to be heard.

If I've offended anyone personally though, I do genuinely apologise, it wasn't intentional, and feel free to hit me up in PM and we can chat <3.

It’s not about airing your opinion. You should be able to do that regardless. My point is it turns from a debate to a witch hunt. Less structure and more just calling out people
