Hello,
This is related to other threads about changing to v5p. Should we do a vote with the Community Input Panel? Then everyone could vote in there. Especially players who has no forum account

The only issue with this is that new players/minges will just click any button and it wouldn't be a true vote
Everything considered, there was already a vote about the v5p. Everyone voted for Rockford. If we constantly change maps instead of grow in one, that is going to make people's dupes worthless. There was a vote for v5p, community voted for Rockford.
Constantly change maps?
It's been months.
Map-vote currently in progress shows a large favor for V5P.

It was made for the specific reason to let anyone that plays on our server vote. Knowledge or none, they still have that right if they use ll’s services.
It's a little pathetic how hard you're trying to push your favor of Rockford tbh, community poll currently stands that more people want V5P.
Even the previous map vote showed a favor of V5P over Rockford on the forums, but I bet you pushed really hard to get it into the F1 menu so randoms can vote on it and you could really push for it on players in-game. Bet if I was active at that time, it'd have a different outcome because I'm sure after explaining all the cons to Rockford and the pros to V5P the vote would've had a different outcome
Rockford zero RP value, crap buildings, crap roads, crap police station, no offices, no room for clan builds (reason why every admin clan builds custom areas), no city feeling, crap optimization (literally giant buildings and blocks textured as trees), fire station that is bigger than all passive rp stores combined, empty spaces everywhere that don't look good, invisible walls, fake buildings everywhere that you can't access, town hall sucks with a basic courtroom on the floor level that nobody is going to use because it doesn't look like a court room, bank that has a broken vault that glitches through the map, slums across from town hall?, gas station stores that are filled and cannot be used for any RP, mesa apartments that are crap and don't actually offer room for additional RP ideas such as running an apartment building or hotel and having a reception area to check people in, cinema that takes up a good chunk of the upper city and isn't used/needed, shops facing a cliff near inner shell that have low visibility and foot traffic and nobody uses, RTA/Realtor buildings are ugly asf and can't be used for RP, industrial area that doesn't even look good and is placed next to downtown and makes it a 10 second drive from PD and has high foot traffic so this makes these areas useless for actual criminal builds not to mention the industrial spaces are huge boxes with poor lighting making them impossible to properly decorate or use for RP (exception being when you're an admin with unlimited props), industrial area middle building isn't used because it's crap and uses flat PHX materials for the exterior and interior and has no room for any meaningful RP usage, three copy and pasted warehouses outside of town lack any good qualities for RP builds, just randomly placed at the end of a road, pier is sad waterfront builds are hideous, lake homes are probably the only semi-decent buildings on the map along with the tavern and some suburban homes, and they are only used for contraband for that reason. GM is a waste of space, filled with crap and look terrible.
Your argument against evocity was that you liked it but that it's sticking in the past and that it's a lagfest and that it's too spaced out, however as stated in the thread those things aren't true. We've never run V5P, it's the same if not better in optimization as Rockford and it functions just as well with 50 players on. There's nobody being spread out hiding, people would actually use the downtown to RP and not be cramped at 190 Main St which is the standalone box shop on Rockford.
Rockford is hurting our communities level of RP and honestly limiting our capacity for growth

I'll go through this part first.
Rockford has RP value, and people have used the many buildings/stores it provides for RP, however that is when they RP. I witnessed that in the SeriousRP event and I'd like to note, the ravine itself has been used for countless roleplays, even by you once. The ravine was used for a collapsing bridge, train tracks and many more.
Crap buildings? The buildings look great, the map you are suggesting has way worse looking buildings. Compare the bank of america in v5p to the bank you have in rockford. I'll get some screenshots to compare the buildings.

Crap roads? Rockford has balanced roads throughout, even in some areas. v5p has a pointless hill that makes no sense, if that is fine for you, why is Rockford's roads a problem?

Crap police station? At least it has one.
No offices, well this is true if the office you have in mind is a massive block. You can use many of the massive stores in rockford for offices.
I found myself finding more interesting dupes to build then the ones I build at Evocity.
Rockford and Evocity are different types of cities, but both have their own ways of giving a city feeling.
crap optimization (literally giant buildings and blocks textured as trees), fire station that is bigger than all passive rp stores combined, empty spaces everywhere that don't look good, invisible walls, fake buildings everywhere that you can't access, town hall sucks with a basic courtroom on the floor level that nobody is going to use because it doesn't look like a court room, bank that has a broken vault that glitches through the map, slums across from town hall?, gas station stores that are filled and cannot be used for any RP, mesa apartments that are crap and don't actually offer room for additional RP ideas such as running an apartment building or hotel and having a reception area to check people in, cinema that takes up a good chunk of the upper city and isn't used/needed, shops facing a cliff near inner shell that have low visibility and foot traffic and nobody uses, RTA/Realtor buildings are ugly asf and can't be used for RP, industrial area that doesn't even look good and is placed next to downtown and makes it a 10 second drive from PD and has high foot traffic so this makes these areas useless for actual criminal builds not to mention the industrial spaces are huge boxes with poor lighting making them impossible to properly decorate or use for RP (exception being when you're an admin with unlimited props), industrial area middle building isn't used because it's crap and uses flat PHX materials for the exterior and interior and has no room for any meaningful RP usage
That is a fire and medic station however and at least there is one.
Empty spaces everywhere that don't look good? Uh, you wanted v5p right? Let me send some screenshots.

I'd take Rockfords empty spaces any day, at least they serve offroading purpose, can use to get out of pursuits.
"Town hall sucks with a basic courtroom on the floor level that nobody is going to use because it doesn't look like a court room"
Might not look like a courtroom, but please don't say that Nexus is better than the Town Hall. Nexus might have more space but that is only because it combines every governmental thing in it. Police, go there. Medics, where do they go? To the tiny hospital? Firemen? Also, try executing a president from a roof while he is in his office in Evocity.
"bank that has a broken vault that glitches through the map"
That can be fixed, but is the v5p's bank better? Is the vault better?

"Gas station stores that are filled and cannot be used for any RP"
Was going to say something about this but only found one gas station, might be my sleepy brain, confirm please? If so, that gas station, does that look good for you? Because you did say Rockford had crap buildings, but looking at that one gas station makes me want to hug the pumps of Rockfords and even V4B1's.

"Mesa apartments that are crap and don't actually offer room for additional RP ideas such as running an apartment building or hotel and having a reception area to check people in"
I've seen people do that, and do it in a great fashion. and his other fellow buds pulled off some good roleplay with those buildings, putting up gang graffiti's and such. Before the front doors being bought were disabled, they even did exactly what you were saying people can't do.
"cinema that takes up a good chunk of the upper city and isn't used/needed"
The mall, way bigger than the cinema, only good thing is the subway, prefilled. I'd take a cinema instead any day, because I've seen people watch a 2 hour movie there.

"Shops facing a cliff near inner shell that have low visibility and foot traffic and nobody uses."
Be honest with me, won't v5p have the exact problem only worse? Because hell, there is stores at the end of the farming area that is faaar away.
"RTA/Realtor buildings are ugly asf and can't be used for RP"
Ugly, the gas station in v5p came into mind. I've seen both of the buildings you listed used many many times, so it indeed can be used.
"...industrial area that doesn't even look good and is placed next to downtown and makes it a 10 second drive from PD and has high foot traffic so this makes these areas useless for actual criminal builds..."
We cooked meth there, and we actually preferred there and we didn't actually get raided and oh boy, meth makes a lot of sound and you used the lack of proper lighting for your advantage to make great black market roleplays.
"industrial area middle building isn't used because it's crap and uses flat PHX materials for the exterior and interior and has no room for any meaningful RP usage"
I have seen it be used many, many times. Even clans make their bases there.
Your argument against evocity was that you liked it but that it's sticking in the past and that it's a lagfest and that it's too spaced out, however as stated in the thread those things aren't true. 50 people in v5p, is chaotic though, I can see people just finding each remote area and contrabanding all day because, for Police it would be like finding a needle in a hay stack.
Many of you like pursuits right? How do you feel when you've successfully gotten rid of Police? Did you thank the open roads and lack of dead ends? Because in v5p, you make a wrong turn, they close of the area, you are done and guess what, nearly every area
Sorry but in terms of looks, Rockford.
In terms of transport, Rockford. (Not counting subway pls)
In terms of Governmental buildings, Rockford.
Sure Rockford has it's problems, but it is not the map that needs change but players need to see the fun of roleplay. Not just arresting people for 15 minutes, driving speeding around, causing shootouts, contrabanding. Roleplay itself needs to be improved, and all of the problems I've bolded that you make, are in v5p, only worse.
I don't even get this discussion.. There has been a vote. Rockford was the community's choice.
Just because like 10 people in game or in the forums are now changing their mind and cry that they desperately want to have V5P, the map won't get changed I think. You are not representative for the whole community of actually hundrets of people.
I admit that I am not that big of a fan of Rockford. But:
Rockford won the vote - deal with it. Every map has it's up and down sides.

(33) EvoCity V5P / (12) Rockford
First map-vote was fairly close and the community has been split on both of these map choices - therefore it makes sense to rotate V5P in a cycle and accomodate both groups. No reason to create a split over something that has a way to satisfy both parties.
After 3 votes were held prior to Rockford becoming a thing
I still like the rotation idea
1w Rockford, 1W V5d, etc.
Best of both worlds and keeps things fresh
Rockford is trying way too hard to be something it can't. No matter how much better the textures are or how much artificial quality they pump into it it's just not evocity. Rockford is like that weird flavour of ice cream which is kinda cool but you won't try it more than a few times, just stick with the vanilla, chocolate and strawberry of evocity. V5p isn't exactly compact, but neither is rockford, but what v5p does have is more than one usable, simple shop on the fucking main street and even more just around the corner from nexus if I remember correctly.
Map rotation is a bad idea as well you may as well just have 2 separate servers at that point. Don't force/funnel players into one thing if you're gonna give them a taste of the other on the horizon, they'll just sit back and wait. Whatever decision you make it has to be permanent.
