REP system change

REP categories are no longer visible and no longer affect item requirements. We've made this change to ensure that every type of roleplay path leads to good rewards and items at the same rate. This also allows us to better populate the REP reward categories.

Dune Buggy

To go with this change, our first high REP reward: the Dune Buggy, great for off-roading. It requires 15 REP and 200k.

Teachers can award REP again

There's no point in adding more REP rewards if players aren't earning the points. We received complaints that admins weren't giving out enough points, and so to assist the admins in rewarding great roleplay, teachers now have these powers too.

More to come soon...
Nice update!
Nice implementation and a fun reward for 15 REPs, too!
There's much much more to be added.

I can tell Fumuku are gonna love what's coming next Wink

Awesome update though!
Lmfao I’m about to arrest everyone who is driving that on the road for 15 minutes

And also we’re just back to how it was in FL where everyone kisses up to the teachers to get RPPs, right? Might as well name them back to role play points
Terrible idea with Teachers and REPs.

Dune buggy is meh. Can tell you right now most police players will take this as a chance to fine people.
Moist
No point really for the dune buggy. seems like it was just thrown in to make it seem like it was cool. bad idea allowing teachers to give REP. Just make the staff more active and people will RP more.

SWAT van is useful, dune buggy is just asking for fines and jail sentences.
These changes to the REP system will make RP more worthwhile. We're going to add a lot more rewards for players, especially those who are at around 30 REP's.

30?

THIRTY?

That's like 3 people. Come on. It doesn't make RP any more appealing. No one that has 1-2 REPs is gonna think "Hey, 30 REP reward, gonna work for 5 months to get that". It doesn't work like that. Add more rewards for 1-5 REPs. Small things that are worthwhile.

I don't know what the hell happens in your staff discussions, but if you thought that putting a bunch of rewards at an extremely high REP level was a smart idea to promote roleplay, well your thoughts are seriously flawed.

There will be rewards all the way up to 30+ to ensure everyone is being rewarded at every stage.
There should be 1 or 2 things obtainable for 30+ REPs in my opinion. It should be a reward for players who actually have  that amount to be able to "show off".

Maybe the ability to change their models (preset models ofc) on their own, to set up and perform better RP?

Exactly. We want to have rewards at every point (1-30), even higher. That way everyone's a winner.

You are looking at the now.  Not the future here.  For one thing, in your own words, 'making' staff for active will not promote more RP either.  Staff are usually tied up with other things that they often miss out on the really cool things.  Staff being more active will ultimately change little in how players roleplay.  Now, we have been given a greater emphasis on promoting players more frequently when we do see something that we feel earns a REP based on player experience.

Teachers can REP now.  How is this bad?  With all the complaints about how few REPs are handed out and how often good roleplay is ignored... doesn't it make sense to give the very people that are often in the midst of the Roleplay the ability to make their own judgement calls?

Yes, some players will buddy up to Teachers, just as they do now with Moderators, Admins, Super Admins, etc.  This is no different to how it is now other than more Staff options.

Secondly, yes there is just a handful of players now that might have that 30+ REP.  But that is now, not the future.  That will change.  These items, as they always have are offered as incentive to RP well.  Some players won't care, some will care greatly.

Ultimately this isn't a perfect solution to encourage every player that logs in to RP.  Nothing will do that, there will always be the few that don't care or want whatever new/updated/additional system that falls into place.  And for those that don't.  Ignore it, it won't hurt you one bit.
