V4B1 is a new map, but the same experience. The same limitations as well as the same positives of the map remain virtually the same as V33X. Just because the 'map recently changed' I don't think is really a valid argument against it.
(Oct 19, 2016, 08:45 AM)evilmat360 Wrote: [ -> ] But v2p was never used in isolation, you always had an alternative server that you could join. Where as here if it was to become the main server using v5p, having up to 75 slots available may make it feel a little less huge.
My point exactly. People weren't forced to play on v2p if they didn't want to and those who wanted to play on v2p played there, those who didn't want to play on v2p played on v33x. v2p died of very fast because people didn't find it enjoyable when the server wasn't full. If we can't have a full server on v33x or v4b1 then v2p definitely isn't the best map to launch.
V2p was unpopular and if the only way to make
v2p v5p popular is to force people to play on it, then that doesn't sound like a good solution in my book.
Sure, we could try to launch a second server to try new maps, but we should definitely not replace the most popular map with one that failed in the popularity-contest. That's the opposite of a logic choice.
I loved v2p and I tried to get people to play on it with me back in the day, but it was too unpopular and the map suffers when it's not running with a full population. I'm a fan of v2p and v5p but it's not good with our situation.
Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.
I likey rockford french.
Sure it may need a few edits in the good ol hammer tool but fuck me is it sexy
ok, I'm going to sum things up on what I feel at this time.
Rockford has been my favorite map by far. Its layout, its circular design, its clever use of buildings and their separation. And yet, that server when it was live got 0 attention. For whatever reason, everyone still flocked to the old trusty v33x.
This proposed server I feel is similar in regards to Rockford, minus the circular design which in my mind limits its functionality a lot. Especially in things like high-speed chases when you hit the end of the line tunnel and everyone has to turn around. That there breaks immersion a bit.
Overall, as it stands I feel that the time isn't right to replace this map with another. At the peak time, we barely fill up, and during the slow time, the server is empty. To mess with this could cause a big drop as there is that hassle of having to load up a new map that I'm sure some wouldn't want to do.
So, to sum up. I don't think the time is right. Later on when we have a full server running then sure, let's see what a fresh map will bring.

Will tell you why the Rockford was empy always
1 - was hosting in america , never showed up for european players , unless they had the ip or connecting trough the banner in forum
2 - 80 % of your players if not 90% are from europe , and some had alot of lagg at rockford when was hosted in america
3 - The lack of interess too , due to v33x been away more populated
4 - New players joined on a empy server and left
5 - The creator had release 1 or 2 updates that have screw up the entire map at workshop
Those are just the reason why it die , maybe if we had changed from v33x to rockford and just keeping 1 server , Rockford would be alive today , also i see sometimes new players joining and when they ask for help nobody cares , all those small things contribute for your servers arent fully everyday , and Rockford can be alive if we wanted too , like the v5p could be alive if we wanted too , needs advertise thats it

The fact it was hosted in America didn't make too big of a difference, personally I think if v5p was to be used the staff could try a second US server however this time on the east coast, as so Europeans can also connect.
What you said is correct. It did make no difference however people said that. It was one of the number one reasons why players decided they didn't join because they thought they'd receive massive ping and lag issues. I went on the server when it was in the US and I had no problem, part from the occasional lag spike however, that was went i was driving 70mph down the side of the maps on Rockford.
Not to meantion, later on - It was resorted to a EU version (I believe that happened?) And still the same issue however due to the map creators mind, decided to update the map and excuse my language, fuck up the server. This happened and then the population that was on that server just dropped 95%. The part that doesn't help with new maps is that everyone picks the server that is the most popular, for instance that is why Evocity_V33x is so popular when we had more than 1 server in CityRP 2. Player, no matter what region they lived in, went on that because it had the most players and when this happened, I did literally hear some Americans say that they only went on the EU server due to the population of it and would take and handle the lag. They knew that the server was there however it was empty or had around 9/50 players which put them off.
Personally, Even if I think about it to myself. If you changed the EU server current map to Rockford, I bet you'd still have the same player base or even more. Which is why, I am certain a forced map change (Obviously from votes) would show a great time with players and learn new things. I get the idea of compact maps and large maps however, I believe larger maps will have a greater time for players, even when they are new.
We only have a few more days till voting is over, so I hope we can bring this up to a larger scale to get more of the community's opinion as we require more than a handful of voters.
I still prefer the french version of rockford as it is like a chaos city version of it. Nice park, couple of shops with a bank etc. Looks really clean as well.

If we vote to make this a bigger discussion, we could vote on a map.
So, the votes are clear that a majority that have viewed this discussion would like to see a new start, yet there are also some who wish for it to stay the same or change to a different map than v5p.
For a definite solution, we need a wider group of people to vote and put in their input.
How should we do this?

I think a good way would be to have a vote show up in the MotD (popup menu thingy when you join the server) and/or in the chat when you join. Would be best to somehow have it in-game and linked to the SteamID of people so they can vote without registering on the forums. Maybe an in-game command like /votemap change or /votemap keep that lets each player vote once only. Keep the vote for a week or two going with some reminders in OOC and we can have a much larger vote turnout.

Yes the might be a loss of dupes ? but isn't that what makes the map change more fun ? yes hundreds of hours spent playing that map and we always see the same dupes every day. But changing the map will bring new dupes more Roleplay and more freedom around the map. more to find out about the map and bring more Roleplay job ETC...
So for this I will be giving a +Support for the map change.
Is't this what makes LimeLight ? bring the community together no what changes
