I actually would love to see V4B1 to be replaced with Evocity 3 once it's released. I generally don't like the idea of having a second server for a different map because they're always a failure regardless how the map is better than the other and LL's history shows it.
EvoCity3 at this point is mostly a pipe dream, even the guys website is out of date by quite alot, its been....3-4 years now?

Even then if it does come out, whos to say its actualy anygood?
I like v5p and Chaos City, perhaps a trial run of both maps for a week or so each? See how the community likes it, if it fails it fails and v41b is still there after all the trial runs.

Here's the problem with that theory.

Let's say we setup a Chaos City and v4b1, both running.
1. People go to the server they are familiar with after Day 1 Hype.
2. Players notice majority on v4b1 and go on v4b1.
3. Chaos City dies.
4. No Chaos City.

Now, how about we just replace v4b1 with Chaos City for a weekend?
1. People don't like different, and they feel forced.
2. Player population dwindles.
3. Possible permanent hit on our popultion.
4. Community dies a little bit and players hate the map for being forced.
Also, a side note. I wouldn't consider v4b1 a map change. Sure it changed Industrial a little, new jails, big lot in Corleone, and a new decor for znexus and motel. Other than that, it's the same map just a different name.

Now v4b1 to v5p? Whole new map, different map layout and building designs. They are completely different maps.

I think he was suggesting that each map rec places V4B1 for a week each.

And in terms of longterm negative impacts..It's not going to be all that great, especially if it's made clear it's a trial. If it's clear the playerbase is reacting badly to a map midway through the trial, then it can be taken down immediately. I'd actually imagine the adverse reaction would happen, in which players would be excited about these map trials and the playerbase would temporarily increase for a few days, perhaps retaining some players whom were previously burnt out.

End of the day, is a trial run, it can be easily reversed.

NB: You could further retain players during this week by holding special events on the trial map. That way even if people are not enjoying the map, they'd be able to enjoy the 'content' on that map for the week.

I have Trialed V5P, Chaosity, and Rockford, and Here are my points

V5P: On one side, the city seems to be a nice area with 2 tracks on some of the roads, while some of the outer areas are a bit meh by my side, I don't seem to have any trouble with it, Some things I have to complain about is the hospital, It is small, with only 2 rooms and one room for surgery which doesn't make too much of a hospital, but I'm not sure how some people are gonna like it, so in my side, I'm giving at a negative rating of 1.5 out of a 10

Chaosity: It's the same thing as Evocity V4B1, but with some slight changes like the Tunnels and Connectivity Road which have been reduced to 1 tunnel to access the Rural/Industrial area, and another one to access the Tides Hotel, but there are a few positive things about it like for example: The Nexus has X-Ray scanners and metal detectors, and the whole city has received a huge improvement on the traffic lights from being one pole with lights to being a normal traffic light we see today, The bank has received a nice update and over all, a park in the middle of the city is what a few people wanted, The hospital is now inside the city and near the Fire Dept. which makes it a good thing for a people who roleplay as paramedics and have to waste time searching for the hospital outside the city, the Top Street has been Expanded in order for the hospital to fit in, but the Tides hotel is now in the outer city area which makes it for me a not very good thing for some of the population in Limelight, but overall this map has received a few good updates, I'm giving it a Positive Rating of 6 out of 10

Rockford: This map has everything concrete in the entire map like Highways, Beach(kind of) and all we see in a city.
I personally do like the highways as the have a nice viewing areas, It makes it comfortable for people who sometimes do Highway Patrolling like me, but Inside the city we have greater like a Hospital in-city, Police Dept away from the Nexus, Nexus (City Hall), Courtrooms, and other things, Bank is a modern building(not so modern, but ok), and the Burger King has been replaced with a Taco Bell, the Apartment complexes are nice if we see them in a viewing angle, we have a nicer Fire Dept (I know that is getting excited over this, even if we all know that his fetishes are fire stations, Chief Suburbans and Fire Trucks) with 1 floor with 4 bays for each vehicle, and another one to be hanging around and such, and with a pole in it, but in my opinion, This map can make a thing for people who like change, but overall, I gotta give a map a Positive Rating 9.5 out of 10

That's all I have to say, your points of view may vary from one person to the other, I'm IsThisANewFLRP? signing out
+Support , why? Make me remember v2p where I joined on city rp back in 2011and were I spended alot of hours learning it , Good memories
v5 is nice, there is no doubt about that, and it is a good update from the older rendition. However there are some concerns that I have with it.

As I read a few posts up, are we future proofing with this update? Is this a way to help with adding in farming, trucking and other things that wouldn't really make much sense in a smaller map?

If so, one thing that would be a rather large 'no-pun intended' issue is with the elevation changes in the roads. I remember struggling big time getting the fire engine up that huge steep hill by the lake, it was a death trap. Some of the smaller less powerful cars also just couldn't make it. Imagine what a semi truck with a trailer would do on that hill?

The other thing that throws me off is the lack of loop-arounds for the most part. One thing I do enjoy with our current map, and Rockford... was that it loops around itself. You can make one large circle around the entire map without having to stop and turn around. This makes car chases more interesting and realistic, and helps prevent areas from getting bogged down when things go wrong. Road blocked off because of a huge traffic jam? No problem, just turn around and you'll still get to your destination. You can't do that here.

Overall, I do consider Rockford to be my favorite map bar none, and not just for the fire station. So, there is a concern that if that map didn't work out so well, are we sure that this one would fare any better?

We need to have some sort of stability instead of changing the map every couple of months. Limelight has a very stable player count at the moment and changing the map could deter people from playing if they keep having to remake their dupes all of the time.

This isn't simple as you all think so if you really want a map change, please be certain of the map you vote in support for.

I support what Nacreas said.

The map could also be a contributing factor to why the playerbase has losts it's momentum in terms of growth. Perhaps changing the map would breath new life into what is a tired setting for some.

I do agree partially with you, but equally feel it should be trialed. Who knows, changing map might give us a full server a month down the line. Not that i'm attributing all the 'problems' of the gamemode to the mapchoice, but changing map could offer some very exciting, and dare I say it enticing opportunities which one wouldn't get with the current one.

Possibly, but we must be certain of the map we select this time around otherwise we run the risk of losing players.
I guess V5P sounds like a good choice, maybe put up a second server just for a week and see how many go on there? Its an easy way to see if people are interested or not. Here's a good video of V5p

If tests would to occur, I would like for Evocity_V4B1 to be down for that week due to how I feel about the topic. We did this with Rockford and due to this, there wasn't enough players to support it. Not becuase they didn't want to, it was because they wanted to go on the high populated server.
