Hey guys,

If this is the wrong place to post I'm extremely sorry, but I'm looking to sell my 500GB HDD for the best price as I can get. I'm just looking to see sites you guys would recommend and where I could get the most cash possible (don't wanna be cut short!)

I've tried looking at CeX/WeBuy and they are offering £10 in voucher credit or £7 in cash, which really isn't what I was looking to find at all but I am aware that they do price matching in store and they convieniently have a store based in my town, but they require the website URL.

I would really appreciate any help given to me, as I'm trying to save up for a new build. Every little helps right? Due to this, I'm looking specifically for cash related offers. Direct to bank payments are also good too.

It's a 500GB Samsung SATA HDD. It's in very good condition and runs at 7200RPM.

I bought some RAM on sale, no returns; turns out while my laptop supported that type of RAM, it didn't support anything above a 4GB stick, so I had to sell my 2 8GB sticks over craigslist.

Worked well, sold it fast, made $50; just remember to
A) Meet in public. I met in a busy drugstore parking lot, not super busy, but always someone in view. Keeps you safe.
B) Deal in cash. Not worth risking getting screwed over with canceled checks, bad gift cards, canceled payments. COLD HARD CASH.

It's a HDD, you're not going to get more most likely; you can get a brand new 4TB HDD for 60 quid...Well that was over a year and a half ago (when I built my rig), so what makes you think yours is going to be worth a great deal?

There's actually various SSDs, around 250gb which are selling for around 30-40 on ebay.


I mean £25 isn't a great deal of money, you probably shouldn't be putting all this effort in to stretch to an extra couple of quid profit. Might aswell put the energy into making money another way, ey.

TLDR £25 is likely the right price for your HDD, and it isn't really worth enough to put the effort in to scrape a little bit more money. So Ebay.

CeX sell 320gb HDDs for £12 so, if they're buying HDDs for like £4, I can't imagine yours is worth much more

CeX buy low to maximise profit though. Never use the purchase price for CeX as a guide.

Speed is also a factor for HDD though, 7200rpm HDDs can still get decent prices. Anything slower and its not really worth it though.

(Last I checked, in May/June 2015 a 500GB SSD cost as much as a 4TB 7200rpm HDD)

Yea I like my hard drives when they start as software then turn to hardware. I like it when it buzzes when it goes too fast.
