In a few days I head off to New York for around a week on a short trip before I head back to school. I was wondering
  • What's good to see?
  • Where's the best places to go?
  • Good places to eat?
  • Best places for shopping? (And for god sakes please don't say 'It's New York, everywhere', I mean specific places with a large amount of shops on it/in it, be it malls or streets.)
  • Anything else?
I am looking forward to going to New York and I'll probably have some photos to share with you all when I'm back.

Thanks for any help that is given, it's appreciated.

When I was in NY about a year ago, I found my favourite place to eat was Buffalo Wild Wings on W 47th St

In regards to what is good to see, I'd say go see the obvious landmarks and really just walk around and see what you can find. Lots of things there. For eating, literally every block has something different from what you're used to.  Go to Times Square for shopping as there are tons and tons of shops, but they're also pretty expensive. If you don't wanna go there, just roam around like I said before. Literally just walk around and you'll find cool things. Here's some pictures I took when I went there.
