As Wurhcill gazed off into the hazy, dusk light that filtered through the glass, he breathed out a sigh of relief. It was refreshing having an empty desk, he knew. It was only empty, though, because he wouldn't be sitting behind it that time tomorrow.

It wasn't the first time the Prison Alarm had went off due to that ape of a security guard, and it certainly wouldn't be the last. Dawson pushed his finger into his earpiece and asked for the status of the gorilla with the cells... There was no response.

The sparks danced from the ceiling like some bizarre fairy-light firework show. Some dust from the ceiling panels crumbled onto the thick tac-helmets of the insertion team, masking the whispered command to a dazed echo:

"Go."

The old guy next door called in some reports of weird, machinery noises coming from the apartment adjacent. The Sarge and I hanged back a little, scoping the residents; hooded thugs, is what I gauged. Bandanas around the faces, converse rucksacks, they were punks. We walked up on the door and gave it a knock, to which there was no answer...
