So, for any of you passionate Counter-Strike fans, or people who play the game from time to time and have noticed the event on the menu screen, DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca - CSGO's 7th major tournament - is currently taking place in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

From the time of writing this, the 2nd stage of the groups has just ended, and so far I'm surprised to actually see some decent games for once, which is (in my opinion) the complete opposite to the much-predictable Cologne tournament back in August.

It was both devastating and exciting to see the underdog teams, such as LG grab the win against their opponents.

Today's game between Fnatic and Luminosity Gaming was by far my favourite of the tournament so far, with Fnatic taking the initial lead on de_inferno before Luminosity managed to swipe enough rounds off the board to put them into the lead, before a tie of 13-13 was reached. Then, a devastating eco round win by Luminosity secured them the match and honestly they deserved it. The Swede's performance recently has knowingly been lacking, however fans and followers alike expected much more of the previous Cologne winners coming into this major tournament. Fnatic underestimated the Brazilian team, pulling out worse plays than Wood in matchmaking, and they got what they deserved for it, you can see the reaction of the winners against one of the supposed "best teams in the world" here:

So, I have a few questions related to the tournament to get us a little discussion going on here Smile

Who is your favourite player?
What is your favourite team?
Who do you want to win the major?
Who do you think will win the major?
What are your Pick'em predictions for the upcoming games? (If you are participating in the challenge)

Personally, I'm looking forward to the rest of this tournament as I have definitely found it entertaining so far, especially with Thorin on the analyst desk once again ;p

I'll go through the questions but the event management has been done so well with PGL this year. I mean, just look at the bomb timer and player death in the actual arena.

Bomb Timer:
rip i cant find the video i found on reddit but yeah, there's little red lights that go down, it's on twitter somewhere.

Honestly can't wait til I attend Dreamhack and ESL next year, the production quality of these events are just getting better and better.
Kind Regards,
Wood.
