MARION COUNTY, ID - Detectives from the Marion County Sheriff's Office are investigating following the discovery of an unidentified body during a routine arrest on a warrant on Saturday.

According to a recent press release, deputies went to the home in Marion County's suburban Lakeside area to enforce an arrest warrant for attempted murder from Boise County. Upon making the arrest and entering the suspect's home, deputies found an unidentified body in a side room which had severe injuries, including several missing limbs.

The suspect was re-arrested on suspicion of murder and transported to the county jail. However, the man suffered a heart attack in the jail and died shortly afterwards. An autopsy and investigation has been ordered and MCSO are waiting for results.

The surrounding area was closed for hours as detectives combed the home for clues, and deputies have been seen in recent days searching the surrounding woods and lakeside area. While the area is now reopened, an investigation remains ongoing, with few leads to follow given the death of the prime suspect. The MCSO has urged anyone with information to come forward and contact them.

Captain Sebastian Kruger, Divisional Commander at the MCSO, said in a statement to EvoCity Newspaper; "This murder will have come as a shock to the local community, and we are actively investigating its full circumstances. At this time we are unable to release more information, except to say that this is believed to be an isolated incident with no risk to the wider community. Deputies will be stepping up patrols in the local area and engaging with the local community. If anyone has any information that may be of use to our investigation, I would urge them to get in contact with Detective-Sergeant Cook by contacting our communications centre or via our website."

Plain clothes deputies recently also broke up a drug ring nearby to the home in the Waterfront area, arresting and charging a woman found to be dealing and growing drugs following a high speed pursuit through the suburban area. It is unknown if this case could be at all related, and the MCSO declined to make a further comment on it beyond their existing press release except to say that the woman has been charged and an investigation remains ongoing.

This could signal a worrying rise in crime in Evocity's suburbs, and many of the local community will be looking towards the Sheriff's Office for reassurance and action.
