A fire engine arrives at the State Guard cordon, with the capitol in the background

EVOCITY, ID - A major incident was declared today at the State Capitol in Marion County after a suspicious package, now confirmed to be a fake bomb, was discovered by a junior Guardsman from the State Guard on the capitol's mail desk, addressed to Senator Walter von Reichenau. During the incident, a male "breached the exterior perimeter" armed with a weapon and opened fire on Guardsmen.

State Guard officials quickly evacuated the building following the discovery, and notified local officials who sent a fire department bomb squad whilst the guardsmen set up a perimeter from Waterfront Road to Corleone Street. Upon the arrival of the bomb squad, they were seen entering the building wearing gasmasks, helmets and body armour with bags and toolboxes.

Whilst firefighters examined the bomb, a male wearing a blue cap breached the cordon and ran into the "hot zone" with a machine pistol and was chased out of it before opening fire on guardsmen. He was killed along with one member of the public. Neither have been named as of yet.

After being examined by fire department officials, the bomb was declared to be a fake filled with flour instead of anything lethal, and the "bomb" was confiscated by the military police.

The incident is currently under investigation by state, local and military police.

STATEMENT FROM THE MCFD CHIEF
Upon arriving on scene we were alerted to a bomb on site, which I quickly appointed my Hazmat officer to deal with, whilst also attempting to maintain Crowd control, Which unfortunately failed, due to the armed man breaching the cordon. The Bomb was eventually defused and destroyed thanks to the Efforts of Hazmat Officer. Scott [@Ketchup][Image: ogyuMBg]
