An open letter to the public by Labour Leader: Lou Stenhouse

Greetings citizens of Idaho,

I come to you, in the form of a letter, to warn of a great threat to our nation. We have forgotten the past, and let the Fascists and the National Socialists back onto the world theatre. We have let ideologies, which have led to the greatest crimes against humanity in recorded history, rise again.

The tell you of a communist threat. They tell you that they shall bring order, restore the country to its former glory. The enemies of this country do not hide in the shadows any more. They stand out in broad daylight rearing their ugly head and spouting hate against the masses. They are not suspicious men in trenchcoats with bombs, or armed militants pointing guns in your faces. They are politicians with far right views. They wear suits, drive expensive cars, go to political dinner-parties, hold fundraisers. To all intents and purposes they look legitimate.

However I warn of their similarities to the great criminals. Joseph Goebbels, Heydrich Reinhard, Heinrich Himmler, Martin Bormann. All names of people who committed atrocities in order to deal with threats perceived by madmen. They lied through their teeth, did deals behind the people's backs, and eventually betrayed their way to power. Once in power they forcibly and systematically destroyed the democracy of their country.

I come with a warning, but it is up to the people to heed it.
