Thomas A. Kirkman (@Ollie630) is Idaho's 34th Governor.

Section 5 of the Idaho Constitution vests the governor with “supreme executive power” and tasks the governor with responsibility for ensuring all State laws are faithfully executed.

The governor appoints department heads and members of boards and commissions, issues executive orders which have the force and effect of law, and drafts and recommends a budget to the Idaho Legislature. On extraordinary occasions the governor can convene special sessions of the Legislature. He must give final approval of legislation, by signing bills passed by the Legislature. He has the power to veto bills but must list his objections. The Legislature can override a veto by a two-thirds vote of each chamber.

The governor is the commander-in-chief of the military forces, except when they are called into actual service of the United States. He is president of the Board of Examiners and chairman of the State Board of Land Commissioners.

Maël Cretier (@desert) is Idaho's 44th Lieutenant Governor.

The Lieutenant Governor of the State of Idaho is an elected constitutional officer, the second ranking officer of the executive branch and the first officer in line to succeed the Governor of Idaho. The lieutenant governor is popularly elected every four years by a plurality and faces no term limits.

It is the duty of the lieutenant governor to preside over the Idaho State Senate and to serve as Governor when they are outside of the state. The lieutenant governor also serves as the Governor’s chief appointment officer, vetting candidates for boards, commissions, and councils. One of their most important duties is working on economic development across Idaho.

The Office of the Attorney General provides legal representation for the State of Idaho. This representation is furnished to state agencies, offices and boards in the furtherance of the state's legal interests. The office is part of state government’s executive branch and its duties are laid out in the Idaho Constitution.

Carole Malone (@Cochise) is currently Idaho's Secretary of State

The Secretary is responsible for the administration of elections and regulation of lobbying and campaign finance. The Secretary's office registers business entities, files liens under the Uniform Commercial Code, and registers trademarks and service marks within the state. The secretary is responsible for a number of administrative and governmental services, including the Will Registry, Health Care Directive Registry, and the state's Address Confidentiality Program.

Penelope M. Mordaunt (@D3ST) is currently Idaho's State Treasurer.

The Idaho State Treasury is dedicated to looking after the hard-earned dollars of Idahoans. Its primary goal is to promote public confidence in the Treasury through prudent administrative and investment policies. The State Treasurer is responsible for the management of both state and local government investment pools. They direct receipt of all state monies, the accounting and disbursement of public funds, and invests general account and pooled agency cash in various fixed income securities.

McCoy Court

The Idaho Supreme Court is the state supreme court of Idaho and is composed of the chief justice and two associate justices. The decisions of the Idaho Supreme Court are binding on all other Idaho state courts. The only court that may reverse or modify its decisions is the Supreme Court of the United States.

Justices are elected in non-partisan statewide elections and serve staggered six-year terms. Elections are held in the state primary, now in the spring, with run-off elections in November. The Chief Justice is selected by an election among the five justices and term length for that office is four years.

The Idaho Legislature consists of the upper Idaho Senate, with four districts, and the lower Idaho House of Representatives, with five districts. There are no term limits for either chamber. All 9 members are elected simultaneously every two years on the same day as the federal election day in early November.

Good afternoon Governor Kirkman, 

We would be more than willing to make ourselves available to meet at the state capitol, however I would like to put on the record that should the meeting occur at our headquarters, we can guarantee your safety at no additional cost to the state. 

We understand and appreciate your concerns, however we do not believe you understand our concerns as to the validity of the warrant on one of our own. We consider each and every employee of this office as part of the family, and while we understand why the warrant was issued, our concerns are with the validity of the warrant.  

I do not believe that we have failed in our duties as Law Enforcement as our concerns with the validity of the warrant were emailed to your own Chief Justice McCoy last night, who promptly emailed back and stated that he would speak to you about them. I would assume he did, as he is a very honorable man given my experiences with him. 

These concerns shall not be released publicly due to sensitivity issues. 

Again, my Command Staff and I would like to meet with you and your cabinet in person to discuss these concerns in full. Our headquarters is always open if you would like to drop by while we have an active shift, or we can formally schedule a meeting at an outside location.

                            WHEREAS, the health and safety of all Idahoans is the greatest priority of our state and

                  its leaders; and

                           WHEREAS, Idaho is committed to being as prepared as possible to respond to the 2019

                  novel coronavirus (COVID-19); and

                           WHEREAS, the worldwide detection of the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19),

                  including in the United States, has progressed to a pandemic declared by the World Health

                  Organization on March 11, 2020; and

                           WHEREAS, the Acting Secretary of Health and Human Services declared a public health

                  emergency exists to address the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19), which affects or has

                  significant potential to affect national security; and

                           WHEREAS, there is risk to life and the continued operation of public infrastructure as a

                  result of the potential for cases of 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) throughout the State of

                  Idaho; and

                           WHEREAS, the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, other state agencies, and the

                  local public health districts are expending resources to prepare for and treat cases of the 2019

                  novel coronavirus (COVID-19), supporting healthcare system response, and addressing

                  resource shortages through the use of supplies and equipment from the Strategic National

                  Stockpile (SNS) throughout the State of Idaho to reduce transmission and illness severity. The

                  costs associated with facilitating the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) preparedness and

                  response effort are expected to increase commensurate with the severity of the outbreak; and

                           WHEREAS, the State of Idaho has established a Coronavirus Working Group to aid in

                  the many public health aspects of the incident; and

                           WHEREAS, the Idaho Office of Emergency Management Emergency Operations Center

                  is coordinating resources across state government to support the Idaho Department of Health

                  and Welfare and local officials in alleviating the impacts to people, property, and infrastructure,

                  and is assessing the magnitude and long-term effects of the incident with the Idaho Department

                  of Health and Welfare;

                           NOW, THEREFORE, I, Thomas Kirkman, Governor of the State of Idaho, by virtue of the authority

                  vested in me by Section 46-1008 of the Idaho Code do hereby find and therefore proclaim and

                  declare:

                           1.    That a state of emergency described in Section 46 1008, Idaho Code, exists in the State of 

                           Idaho.

                               a. The plans and procedures of the State of Idaho Emergency Operations Plan are to be

                                   implemented.

                               b. The nature of the emergency is the occurrence and imminent threat to public health

                                   and safety arising from the effects of the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

                               c. The area threatened by the emergency includes the State of Idaho.

                               d. The area subject to this proclamation shall include the State of Idaho.

                           2.    The state of public health emergency herein described shall exist for a period of thirty

                                  days unless terminated, modified or unless extended for thirty-day increments.

                           3.    State agencies and departments are directed to utilize state resources and to do

                                  everything reasonably possible to assist affected political subdivisions in an effort to

                                  respond to and recover from the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

                           4.    This proclamation serves pursuant to Section 46-1008, Idaho Code, as authorization for

                                  the resources of state government to assist in efforts to deal with the public health

                                  emergency of the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Idaho.

                           5.    State licensing agencies and departments are authorized to temporarily exercise
                                  enforcement discretion, implement temporary rules, and waive licensing and related
                                  requirements to maximize access to health care services and provider support in
                                  response to COVID-19.

                           IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Great

                           Seal of the State of Idaho at the Capitol in EvoCity on this 27th day of March in the year of

                           our Lord two thousand and twenty and of the Independence of the United States of America
