This has been a thought for ages just never been implemented into the game, I've also seen a few servers with a system like this already.

I don't see this as copying, it is an advancement in roleplay in which we are now taking.

Agreed but wouldn't a quick advancement in role play to accommodate something a 'rival server' have put in to place not to long ago flag some suspicion

Well, its certainly not my fault how they push updates.

Also, yes it looks dodgy, but it doesn't affect anyone. Yes, we may be rivals, we have the same aim, which is to create RP and I personally, believe that this will promote RP in a different way.

As long as it's not a horrible chat-based thing and an actual GUI similar to the Police Database with the ability to do /dispatch inside Town Hall/PD as well as a separate entity that can be bought in the misc. the section that allows Dispatchers to function on the go.
