His father being a stock market trader in the bustling city of New York, Mark was always taught how to speak with people in a proper manner, how to act according to societal rules and how to make deals beneficial for himself. He also never suffered from a shortage of food, water or clothes as his father's wealth had earned both him and his mother a lot of fancy dresses and the like. 

His mother, however, was still a country girl at heart. Her being from Kansas City, she met his father when she was staying in New York City for a short while with her mother. The two however instantly fell in love and had been ever since. Until the accident.

Mark's father was found dead at 35 when Mark was only 10 years old. The police (due to lack of tools or methods back in the day), quickly ruled it a homicide, naming his father's older brother, Johnson the gunman with whom the father has worked with for years as brokers. It was likely business-gone-wrong.
After the death of the father, Mark's mother wanted to leave behind the city and return to where it all started: good 'ol Kansas. It was not until her mother's death at 60 that Mark has moved out of Kansas City to rural Texas and opened a store to return to what his father had taught him: trading.

Details about yourself: A Scottish immigrant, Knight immigrated to America in search of a better life away from the crowded second city of the empire, Glasgow. He had worked as a Constable in the City of Glasgow Police for a number of years when he decided to leave.

Knight immigrated to America, and quickly found himself in the wild west. Having worked as a Constable, he decided to take it upon himself and become a Sheriff's Deputy, using his prior knowledge to help enforce the laws of good. Knight is a deeply religious man, following the protestant version of Christianity. A man of God, and a friendly man, he tries to socialise with the inhabitants of his town whenever he can, finding himself getting to know them.
