Discord works for a small amount of people, not a whole community.
Not only that, prevents players from trying to spam staff members questions or to get on the server. I know there are block mechanics and preventions from tagging users and groups but blocking DM it just gets too clingy in the end.
literally takes less than a minute to block this

I have personally seen Discord servers with hundreds of players and I believe that it surpasses the capabilities of Teamspeak.
So let's not ridicule our community by using an outdated program, shall we?

Also, video game companies dont have a "Small ammount of people" in the discords (as already mentioned Fractured Space)
Again, we’ve already had this argument. I don’t really feel like copying and pasting the same walls of text that were brought up in the original suggestion.
Also, the video game company situation with Discord was also discussed there I believe, so, again, I don’t feel like repeating the wall.
Well, do you have evidence that it does not work?
I don’t know. Probably in that old suggestion.
Do you have proof that it does? As from what I see, you have the opinion that it works for those specific gaming communities.
Swooping in with an answer: Yes, I do.

Swooping in with another answer. I have proof that discord doesn't work. The staff discord has numerous issues with it. Messages being consistently ignored, or missed. Responses being several hours later, caught under a torrent of shit. Channels being misused (fucking @ Faustie, nobody cares about spacex) make it difficult to get work done. Teamspeak is cleaner for this, as it's designed for the short-term meetings, which is generally what LL uses in its player base.

Due to a high level of community support, this suggestion has been moved to the Popular section.

As I have said, I've used it numerous times with hundreds of users on the same server without any issues.
I stand by my point, that Discord is much cleaner and a lot more up-to-date in its design.
We are no longer in 2001 (when it was created). It is time to move on.

I am a founder of a over 500 member discord server for RS2 finnish community. Discords works fine as a platform since RS2.FI does not have a forum. It absolutely depends on how you want it to work.
Discord would work fine as a Community chatting platform, if people don't wish to chat over OOC about stuff or can't join IG but still wants to have instant messaging platform. Easy to maintain and doesn't need to be hardly handeled. You could setup roles for teachers etc. People could ask question etc.
Get a Community Handler role who moderates Discord?
