To be blunt, i do feel far more situations need to be allowed to be handled in character.
This used to be the case at one point, but as times gone on our rule list has grown, and at the same time our ability to generate interesting RP situations, and just a generally interesting atmosphere has shrunk.
With more rules, comes less freedom, with less freedom, comes less creativity, with less creativity comes stagnation.

This still doesn't solve the issue Soviet.
Because every staff member you ask gives you a different answer.

This is a discussion thread, so please stay relevant to the discussion, rather than taking your personal feelings about a predicament that is well behind everyone else and turning it into an ad hominem. Thank you.

Send in an @ call before you go through with it to ask the staff who are actively responding to calls what they'd think about it. As Enzyme said, reaching a general consensus in regards to the rules with a very large team is close to impossible.

Thank you. This is a discussion thread, and I am doing just that. Just perhaps I'm discussing something you don't like, is an administrator forcing the hand of others via OOC not related to staff members punishing/hindering roleplay? Last time I checked, clan wars are roleplay. Thank you

According to @ Soviethooves I should report staff members enforcing rules that aren't listed (Such as the grace period prior to enforcing a new law) to the HR team. Which one is it? Should I report them or go along with what they say?

I'd report them. Endorcing rules not listed without a backup to their claim (Ex. Saying it falls under FailRP, NLR, etc) isn't what we are here to do and just ruins your time.

Sadly, that topic can be brought up here but you must do it in a better manner. Using memes and making a staff member look bad isn't the way to go about doing it and can lead to your possible loss of access on these services.

Because every staff member you ask gives you a different answer.
Then go with their answer. You'll find for the more common grey areas that most staff members have the same opinion. If someone has an odd one, ask why. People have been doing this for a whil, I fail to see how this is a problem now.

tbh the "grace period" is something i've never heard of until now, but it should be a rule quite honestly. Imagine you've spent an hour working on fortifying your home, only for the president to outlaw blocked windows. Of course, after all that work you would want to take 5 minutes to save the dupe but alas, the fuzz rolls up and locks your sorry ass in jail for breaking a law that has been around less time than hamsters live.

Can you explain this situation in detail?

I can imagine someone saying something about a grace period for fairness sake. For example, if weapons are legal one moment, and become illegal because a president makes a new law, it would be unfair for cops to instantly go inside a gun store and arrest the gun dealer without giving him a few minutes to abide by the law and close the store. (IRL laws come into effect a while after they are announced not just appear out of thin air one day and come into effect immediately)

Then we should be clarifying that is a rule. I wouldn't consider it being enforced, but if we are going to say that, we need to make it known.
