Hello

1. Does Mhz affect gaming?

2. Does it matter from what brand I am buying RAM

3. My ram is running currently with 800mhz, does it work if I buy 1600mhz Ram?

It will affect your gaming performance, but the extent of which depends on your CPU. For AMD's new Ryzen CPU lineup, the RAM speed does affect things significantly, with diminishing returns at around 3200MHz.

The brand might matter because some companies use higher quality B-die Samsung memory such as Gskill, but it may be more expensive. This makes it more likely for your RAM to actually run at the claimed frequency.

If you have dual channel RAM, that 800MHz RAM (which seems very slow) is actually 1600MHz (2 x 800).

Well, it might not be worth it if you have an Intel CPU and 16GB RAM in total. 1600MHz isn't too bad.

If it isn't Ryzen then don't bother getting new faster RAM unless you want to upgrade to 16GB.

If you want to upgrade to 16GB, get 2x8GB RAM at 3000MHz.

Yeah. You can buy them in kits so that you ensure compatibility with each other.
