I was told to demote the Sergeant, so I did. Then when the slot was available I became that job. I didn't demote him to take his job I demoted him because nobody could understand him and he wouldn't listen after us telling him to type. Sorry I didn't know I could take the slot if I was the one demoting him, it wont happen again.

I'm giving you the benefit of doubt regarding how it went. Next time, so things like this don't happen just don't change to the job of the person you demoted as it will definetely look like powergaming, like it did now.
