Witnesses said several people had been stabbed in the town in south-west Finland. 
One person has died, with police covering a body lying in the middle of the street with a white cover.
Five other people have also been injured. The extent of their injuries has not yet been clarified. 
Police are hunting for "several possible perpetrators" after shooting and arresting one man.

Security at Helsinkin Airport and transport hubs has been boosted in an attempt to capture the other suspects.

One said: "A likely terrorist attack just occurred in Turku, Finland. I saw the police shoot a man.

Another said: "Under lockdown in the center of Turku, several people injured possibly dead. Large police and ambulance presence.

My country's threat level has been at ''substantial'' for the past 4 years now, which is the second highest a threat level can get over here. They're definitely not ruling out that a terrorist attack can happen at any moment because of attacks happening in surrounding areas, proof of terrorist groups planning attacks on my country and such facts that made it to be on the second highest level.

Even though I live in a province that is less likely to be attacked, I dread the day I have to respond to a van driving into a crowd. ...or worse.

Poland here appears to have the overwhelmingly largest support for this type of group, and so far has had no terrorist attacks.

And you're right, this isn't a discussion thread, but I don't see how a discussion related to the topic of the news isn't relevant?
I'd much prefer we talk about it and about and how to prevent these atrocities rather than express our fruitless pity for the victims and their families for the hundredth time. That should go without saying. It's time to act instead of crying.
