Turkey, for the last few months had memorable terrorist attacks, bombings which were directed to innocent people but today's bombing was in one of Europes busiest airports, Ataturk Airport at Istanbul was perhaps the heaviest.

There were two bombings, but what separated this attack from the others was the fact the terrorists entered through the checkpoint with kalashnikovs made their way into the airport, through the X-ray, destroying it with grenades.

It is reported that there are at least 32 dead, 88 wounded.

I will add more information regarding this, into this post as more information is released.

- Twitter is now blocked in Turkey but as Turkish people are used to it, most of us already have VPN's installed.

- The Associated Press cited an unnamed Turkish official who said that the death toll could be as high as 50.

- Turkish president Tayyip Erdogan commented on the attack.

Quote:The suicide attack on Istanbul's main international airport was aimed at undermining Turkey through the killing of innocent people, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.
In a written statement, he said:
"It is clear that this attack is not aimed at achieving any result but only to create propaganda material against our country using simply the blood and pain of innocent people."
Mr Erdogan also said he expected the world to show a "decisive stance" against terrorist groups in the wake of the attack.

- According to Minister of Justice, Bozdag: "31 dead, 147 wounded"

This is just disgusting and very saddening, my thoughts go out to the victims and their friends and family as well as the citizens of Turkey.

It's a really scary thought seeing what is happening in the world as of late. All I hope is that this all stops very soon.  Undecided
