I personally wish they didn't have this month, or black history month. I'm not homophobic and I'm all supportive if you want to be gay or any of that as well I think I should add, but you don't need a month dedicated to it, especially if you wont dedicate a month to everything else.

Does it affect you in any way, though? I agree that it's a bit ridiculous to have a whole month dedicated to it, but in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter. I didn't even know it was pride month before I saw this thread.

The idea is that having a whole month dedicated to a certain race, gender, sexual orientation, etc. tries to depict the race, gender, etc. as superior or more important than those not listed. Another idea that stems from having a month for a specific purpose is the idea that you are relegating the importance or history of whatever race, gender, etc. the month is for. For example, Morgan Freeman is opposed to Black History Month because it's relegating black history to a single month. Black history is American history so it shouldn't be relegated to a month. 

We don't have white history month, we don't have Jewish history month, we don't have Christian history month, yet we have Black History Month, Pride Month, etc. At least in America, I've noticed teachers are pressured into only teaching black history during Black History Month. If we remove the whole month idea and just teach black history throughout the whole year, there is no need for the month. We don't need to relegate history to a month. We need to teach it regularly. It's the first step to ending racism, sexism, what have you.

I'm usually pretty right-leaning, but I need to say here;

I think you're all being fuckin' disgusting. Why do you all care? Up until recently, it was actually illegal to be gay in most countries, in fact in quite a lot of the world it is still illegal to be gay. 

My problem with our part of the political spectrum is; we're all up for free speech, until it's speech that we don't like. Who gives a fuck if a man loves a man or a girl loves a girl? It's not your place to decide if that's okay or not, nor is it your place to decide whether or not they get to celebrate that.

Is worse than just not having a specific month. 
Why can't we just celebrate and talk about minorities when ever we want? There doesn't have to be specific days/months in the year. 

I don't agree with pride month but I do agree with gay/LGBT+ people being able to do what they want to do. 

I think it is actually worse about having specific months because we are taught about straight white people all yeah round until it comes to black history month or pride month and we learn something new.

We should equally learn and express things whenever we want to.

So this ain't racist or homophobic; I just think it's fucking stupid.
