I think arrests aren't cool atm you just do a /warrant 15mins and then arrest with a stick.

Maybe add a judge Role and if you want to arrest someone you take him to the courthouse at the townhall and you speak for your self/lawyer and the other officer aswell at the end the judge decide weather warrant you or not. Judge do that warrants.Or president plays as the judge i just don't like the new arrests system i think it should change in any way.

Personally, I don't find this a good idea. Having a limit of 5 cops, at least 3 will be in the courthouse at any given time trying to win their case.

Also, if the prisoner loses, then they have lost a lot of time. As they will have waited something in the region of 5-20 minutes + their arrest time. I don't see this going down well with a lot of people.

As good as it would be to see such an in-depth system, I don't see this working. There are other ways around this issue but it would require a lot of effort to create and function.

You are correct about "Also, if the prisoner loses, then they have lost a lot of time. As they will have waited something in the region of 5-20 minutes + their arrest time. I don't see this going down well with a lot of people."
But at least they role played.
Or maybe you need to get the person you wanna jail to his cell by your self after hitting him with the stick so people might interrupt you.

Hitting him and then Puff he just disappeared to the jail is not the best way.

True, but not everyone wants to RP. Personally, I don't feel like this should be forced upon people. However, I don't see an alternative to this.

The staff are already overworked, they don’t need even more FearRP cases

There will be no FearRP cases.
Alternative plan just like i said maybe Hitting him with a stick and do that warrant so he can be cuffed with the jail suit and drive him to the jails by that his friends might stop the police car and stop him like escorting the jailer,Judge like i said or any other option but not teleport to the jail by hitting him.

However that what i think you might disagree with me and i respect that totally Smile

Unless there is a way to drag cuffed people and force them into vehicles FearRP will be broken by a lot of prisoners

Train cops to not be shitheads and give OOC punishments for extreme cases of abuse of power instead of everything needing to be handled IC.

You are correct. Some cops just come hand cuff you do the warrant for 15mins and arrest with stick which only takes 30secs to do and you take a 15mins for some bad reason and you can't do anything about it.

Every single time someone gets arrested they just do a /warrant 15 mins and the warrant gets approved without even talk or listen to you. but arrests are IC you go talk to the president (that if you can get a meeting which you will never get) he will say I didn't saw anything i can't demote him. so arrests are IC if we want it to be IC then we need a good IC system.>Court<

But i'm talking about making a system instead of hitting with a stick and suddenly teleport to the jail cell.

You'll spend more time arguing back and forth in court with people shouting over one another than it is even currently possible to spend in jail. I don't believe it makes sense for this gamemode.

Court stuff has never properly worked out on GMod, at-least not when I've been involved because it essentially becomes a one word over another case where both parties are throwing around accusations. Not many people want to record arresting people or being arrested yourself and then editing it and uploading it for a court case. Too messy, takes too much time and I think it will be done really inefficiently.

I do, however, think we should get rid of the arrest stick and instead make it so you have to take arrested people to the Police Station where you can process them from there. Maybe talk to an NPC or use a computer based in there. This would cut down on the number of cops who arrest you for little things like jaywalking or speeding - stuff you should be getting fined for if not warned. Right now the arrest baton gives us a nice DarkRP way to send players straight to jail from anywhere on Rockford so forcing them to have to take you all the way to prison would make them think twice before giving you a big sentence for a little misdemeanour.

As any of the developers will tell you when adding new features, functionality takes priority over realism most of the time.

This ^

It would be a waste of time as this is a rather fast paced GM.
