Rockford is fine. I don't see a reason for a change in map.

Add another server, run V5P.
Problem solved!

Since we don't have the player-base to support the second server, switch the main after you hold a vote and find that the people who voted EvoCity_V5P initially will keep their position and yet you'll find many who voted Rockford have lost the hype for it and wish to return to a superior map.

Hold a community vote, please. I'd rather play on a map that actually has RP Zones and quality map details than an empty Rockford where the only point of interest is one standalone store on "Main Street" and a suburban neighborhood that serves nothing more than housing contraband.

EvoCity actually has separated areas, is semi-fluid in that there is a large portion that is circular (though not if you descend down the lake-side hill) and while some people complain about the one-way portion because it prevents never-ending police chases, I believe this is a good thing. I'm tired of seeing Street Racer RP and pursuits that are solely based around vehicles until someone is shot out of one or explodes from hitting one of the many trees Rockford has to offer. Foot pursuits and manhunts would be more interesting again, suspects could flee through the tunnels or hide in the farm fields. Quarantining tunnels off once you narrowed down the search was always a fun aspect of the manhunt.

EvoCity also has a plethora of RP spaces, such as a functional slum area, extremely nice apartments (which are 100x better than the bland copy-n-pasted boxes that lack any RP-value) and mixed-use retail spaces, storefronts, industrial space that isn't limited to one zone. You've got a functional metro system that offers another great RP zone to the map and while it's not a high-speed rail, it still serves as public transportation and offers a quick way to get to the other side of the map and also bring value to certain role-play. Being a Corleone, this was always an ideal method of getting from the neighborhood back into town and it also served as a unique area that could be used for BMD zones or even being hoodlums in the tunnels.

The farming area was expansive and opened the opportunity for large builds to have plenty of room to be placed and opened up additional role-plays that we've only really seen on EvoCity maps, such as creating militia groups that owned a part of the map or even a separate nation for a group of citizens.

The lake is gorgeous and the atmosphere is captivating and there is no comparison to the measly pier and emptiness of Rockford's waterfront and "Ravine" that is nothing more than a place to dump a body or car. V5P has a ravine that can serve the same purpose, if not better.

The Mechanic Shop, with functional car-lifts, reception, and office space serves an actual purpose opposed to Rockford's, which can only be opened with a prop and/or vehicle and really has nothing to it and lacks quality lighting in the space.

The Supermarket is large and while filled with some world props definitely exceeds the quality of the Rockford Supermarket with low-quality models and extremely cramped spaces. At least V5P Supermarket has room to build and a back warehouse.

MTL, MTL, MTL. We all love MTL. Rockford industrial spaces are bland, lack any sort of lighting and are extremely over-sized and make it nearly impossible to decorate it appropriately. Less is more. V5P has functional industrial spaces with quality lighting, buildings aren't just over-sized boxes, and they just look good.

Even the Nexus is something I'd prefer to see. Rockford's Town Hall is a drag. Over-sized lobby, direct access to a courtroom that is pitch black and uses hideous prop benches that you'd see in a run down park. V5P has a function court-room, an actual jail area that promotes prison-based role-plays rather than a TP to a sad place to store people where they AFK for 15 minutes. V5P actually has a place to process them, take their mug-shot, move them in and have a secured way to open/close cells, trigger an alarm and RP-zones in the prison to allow them to access an open area to sit at tables and interact. Rockford's jails, if opened, unleashes prisoners and due to the close-proximity of inmates to other inmates and jail-staff, it leads to punchwhoring.

Office space on V5P is great, where as Rockford lacks any office buildings.

There's just so many different places on V5P to set up a role-play zone, where as Rockford is just so empty and bland. I'd rather play on a large map that looks good and I'm sure there are those that would agree with me.

Go ahead and keep a server on Rockford, but at least hold a community vote on opening up an additional server on V5P or replacing the current map.

I'd love to be able to access that map on LL and I'd enjoy playing on it even with a low-player count, where as Rockford is just a drag to be on when nobody is on. There's nothing nice about the scenery and it's extremely car-dependant to reach any useful areas.

Oh good idea now that we finally have more then 20 people on its a great idea to divide them again so neither server has that many people on.

We don’t have a population to even fill Rockford. What makes yo think we can fill a map twice its size while splitting the playerbase in half?

Then hold a community input vote to switch the main server :)

All, https://limelightgaming.net/forums/thread-14658.html tells me is that the community favored EvoCity_V5P greater than Rockford.

It's just a superior map and I believe the size of it and layout is far better for a CityRP server. We're not a SuburbiaRP where we all hide in a neighborhood home and this isn't Cops N' Robbers, which it'd certainly feel like since this map is mainly being used for police pursuits around the outer roads.

Rockford surely had hype when the first version came out as it was refreshing to leave EvoCity, being that we'd been on v33/V4b1 since the start and even before when we were another community, however, I believe we are still at a point where
just as many people want to see V5P on LL.

Rockford wasn't our main server, it was our [US] server map and sadly I was away from the community at the time of voting or else I would've surely voiced my disinterest in having such a bland and hideous map as our primary one.

V5P optimization is just as good, even with this game-mode. It can handle 70+ players with no impact on FPS/Lag.

Most importantly, Rockford just cannot support our player-base like EvoCity can. I'd rather see a larger map with actual features that promote role-play than a bland map that promotes nothing but hiding around in neighborhood homes.

EvoCity_V5P actually opens up RP once again for large clan operations, role-plays that revolve around industrial activities, seeing as that map actually has functional industrial RP-zones with proper buildings - and about a hundred other things that Rockford shut down because of the way it is made.

I'm 100% for this. I've played on the EvoCity map and i think it would improve RP on limelight exponentially. It really is a beautiful and versatile map that offers so many different interesting possibilities. I've had an amazing time on limelight however, the entirety of it has been in rockford. I would be very excited to see the amazing things that this community could come up with in EvoCity! These are exiting times boys, I really hope this happens.

Much love,

Sadly it is just too big for our small player base. You can try and hold a community vote, but the staff team has clarified already that it is going to be a long time before we switch the map again. Even if we were just to make another server, our small player base would be split in half (Or like it did with Rockford and Evocity EU, they will go to what's familiar and forget the other one).

I agree, it's a good map and I'd rather it if we had 70+ players regularly, but right now it would be nearly impossible.

And my opinion is that player-base size shouldn't matter.

On peak hours, EvoCity_V5P is the perfect size. Contraband operations aren't a block away from the main part of town and there are more areas to spread out different groups. Rockford has the suburban neighborhood grid and that's about the only spot people primarily choose to operate.

Right now, it's extremely OP with a full-sized police force and SWAT when they take on an operation in the confined neighborhoods. V5P actually brings back an interesting aspect of basing and brings back variety in where people choose to be.

Downtown isn't dominated by a fire-station that isn't even needed and a General Motors building that nobody uses. Instead, V5P downtown is filled with RP-Zones of all types.

V5P actually brings back an effort in having to have detectives go out and search for operations instead of just doing what you do on Rockford, which involves patroling the well-known areas (Neighborhood, Industrial) - and assume you're going to find some contraband and illegal activity. And remember, it's not just police looking for people's operations. Increasing the investment and profitability of contraband has resulted in gang activity and criminal enterprises to be formed around stealing contraband to re-sell it back.

Low player-counts on V5P is much preferred as well. People are hiding around anyways and it makes it much more interesting and worthwhile when you have to explore the different areas  if you're planning on raiding somebody.

I'd rather like to see the evoford map used (combination of both maps) or to see a edit of evocity such as rp_evocity_edit.

Starting to get bored of evocity since its so basic now and is so small.
