[L²:RP][F.I] Sours
Pvt. Brooker [42ndPA] ForceGhost

SteamID:
STEAM_0:1:17477046
STEAM_0:1:8701341

Server: rp

Time: about 6:00 pm

Summary: Wearing civilian clothes as "EC:PD | Armed Response Unit" (SWAT). There was nothing in their job titles that indicated that they were a part of any "Special Forces Unit", or "Undercover SWAT" (however that makes no sense). They basically were SWAT units going into raids with civilian clothes. This is very dangerous to themselves, because if an officer is say, clearing a building, their adrenaline is very high, and if they see a 'civilian' with an AR or G36, they will shoot, resulting in the injury or death of the Armed Response Unit. It would also be metagaming if the officer were to look at the job name of the Armed Response Unit and not shoot him.
When I confronted Sours about the issue, he ignored me. When I confronted ForceGhost, he quoted 1.11.

2.5 Do not do unrealistic things out of context (FailRP). This includes things such as anti-gravity bathtubs, unrealistic car colours, watermelon fights, etc. when there is no specific roleplay in which they would make sense (i.e. game shows or science roleplays).
This is very unrealistic. I may be wrong and please tell me if I am, but I have never seen a government SWAT team in a residential city wearing plain clothes. If this were real life. I would not send these "specialists" wearing a polo into a room with armed assailants in it.

9.1 Custom job titles must accurately state what character you intend to roleplay.

vvv

9.6 You must roleplay your job accurately (i.e. do not pretend that you’re a special ops soldier as a citizen or chef).
The accused were roleplaying their actual job title correctly, however they were not wearing the attire that fits their actual job title.

At the time of requesting this, myself and Sours were undertaking in a firearms operation at the Motel which involved a known Weapons Smuggler from my previous RPs with him @Armard we had received reports of his Porsche being in the vicinity of the Motel so set about organising a base of operations we can operate out of while observing his movements.

Because of his large previous criminal history it was decided that the SWAT or Armed Response Unit would be best to take lead until he was safely apprehended.  On arriving at the Motel we saw the suspect leaving and without all of the available units in place and ready to apprehend the suspect, deciding to not take action then we set up a point of observation and communication outside of the Motel. I then headed back into city to ensure my unmarked car was fueled and repaired in case we needed to use it. On returning from the City back to the Motel I was pulled over by 3-4 officers.

After complying with the officers and identifying myself, as well as the uniformed section of my team responding to the call and verifying my identity I received several complains about our uniforms from a couple of officers. I simply stated at the time that as long as radio communication was maintained and they didn't shoot at unidentified targets then no friendly fire would take place. After them still not being satisfied with the outcome I advised them to direct any complaints to the current President and went back to our objective of apprehending a known armed felon.

Our loadout was based off a known firearms dealer sting in my local area: We even kept out firearms the same using G36C and Glocks 17s.

Why wouldn't the officers do a sting?

Why didn't you change your job name?

Why did you not change back to your proper attire at the 2 calls I witnessed you at after the motel (industrial and corleone)?

With a known firearms smuggler it is surely better to ensure preparedness rather than risk the safety of officers is it not?

Our job name was perfectly relevant in my opinion. Just because our clothes weren't standard issue it doesn't change our function. @Daley, @Barkles and @Bambo also were aware of our job names and didn't mention an issue with them.

This is a gamemode issue, because we can't select citizen models we have to get them set by an admin. I sure staff would get pretty annoyed having to reset our models every 5-10 minutes. So it's either don't respond to calls, constantly get our models set or respond to calls in plain clothes. I picked the lesser of three evils.

Of course you got it from European policing, thats why it doesn't make sense

So just because you did one Weapons sting means you can carry you big ass gun, side arm, ceramic vest, baton taser riot shield radar gun spike strip smoke grande concussion grenade lock pick keypad cracker handcuffs ram arrest baton and whatever else you may have one you in your pockets, because obviously you were not wearing a big vest that is DESIGNED to house all these items.

I can't holster or remove weapons that I spawn with. The best I can do is ensure they conform to the type of RP I am doing, the best that the gamemode will allow them too. I shouldn't be able to pop a car out of my ass but I can do that too.

If there is a plainclothes and ceramic model on the server I can use, feel free to let me know about that and I'll use it in the future. I'm sure you can understand that the limits the gamemode impose requires us to improvise for the RP we wish to do.

yeah, I don't expect this to be approved, mostly because of bias, but also because you people may not see it how I see it, but I mostly I just posted this to see the standing on this and if I will be able to wear a suit 24/7 as SWAT

Don't see a reason why this would not be allowed. I've set the models of the two players in questions, and they had a valid explanation as to why they wanted to do so. I see no issues with this, as long as it's properly communicated with the police to avoid certain situations. The amount of models on the server are limited.

In the future the players in question should proceed with caution when using non-standard models, and communicate this with the police force. However I do not see any rule infringements. Considering I was the staff member who originally set their models, I'll be denying this report.
However, I would like to note that in the future it might be smart for the accused players to make it clear to the police force what they are doing, and why they would be equipped with non-standard issue clothing, or low profile clothing.
