A complex simulation showed that in 2020 due the Global Warming the harvest will be much less and the Food Prices will go up to 345%

Economic Simulation: In a few years there will be a massive world revolt

The public and private security sector in the US are preparing to appear in greater detail than previously known to the consequences of a global food crisis. Several studies, which were published in December 2015 from the CNA Corporation, which were rarely reported, describing the detailed simulation of a global famine that lasted from 2020 to 2030. To describe it, reports of the CNA Corporation, a nonprofit organization moving in the field of operations research and surgical planning, which is working for the US government and among other things.

In the simulation program, entitled "Food Chain Reaction" which is a desktop game that participating for 65 representatives of various international institutions from the United States , Europe, Africa , India and Brazil should be in a sort of dry run.

Thanks Faustin, i was just too lazy to translate it.

If the people in Europe are getting "hungry" whats with the people in africa then... I think something like that can happen but not 2020.

That's interesting.

They've basically said that Malthus' theory of population growth is he more likely outcome than Boserup's.

And if I may casually just say, Lily Allen predicted it too in Kabul Shit:

Quote:Well we should have recycled
And saved our resources
Well let's steal someone else’s
Someone call the armed forces

In fact shit, she predicted a lot of stuff there. Seriously damn girl.

There's a hole in our logic
There's a hole in the sky

^ The hole in the Ozone layer

And we'll blame it on terror
Also known as religion

^ Everybody's associating Islam with terrorism, thinking it's synonymous. Also the War on Terror which was basically against Jihadists.

well technology in the mass production of things like grain are advancing at a rate that makes this unlikely,
You can never trust crap like this I mean 20 years ago they said there would be no oil by 2010 ... and unless I missed something

I think this is quite unlikely. Genetic engineering and other advancements in the food industry make certain that small changes in climate won't have such a drastic effect on the harvests.

GM crops are great however like with all advances in science, there's an element of risk.
As it's a fairly new idea (began in 1996, just 20 years ago) we don't yet know what the side effects are.
In 50 years people could be growing celery out of their ears because of constant exposure to it (idk) and if we're relying on it so heavily then it'll be a global catastrophe.

Actual possibilities listed here

And what do we do for meat? We'll be using intensive farming or overexploiting the land (Making cattle ranches), neither of which is good. Making transgenic cows so they're really fat is morally wrong, and whilst I love me a burger, legislation and activists will probably prevent it from happening... if it doesn't I've lost faith in humanity.

Vertical farming is a possibility - if you can't grow outwards, grow upwards. Skyscrapers of crops already in development in Singapore because yay sustainability and innovation

if there was a famine, we could always use GMO's to increase production.
