The desks look tiny due to the size of the room, good luck decorating that place with a 40 prop limit. A lot of the map will seem empty and not at all like a city environment.

As the saying goes, bigger isn't always better Tongue

If you see rockford, while buildings look huge, big part of them are simply not used/are blocked off.

Quite clear that this building is actually being used for the bank lobby as he mentioned above.

Also he said the photos are old.

No he said "Since screen shots above were pretty old; I'm now posting screenshots from today!"

My bad, indeed the picture you are talking about is fresh.
It has pillars and que lines, whilst the balcony where them desks are have offices Wink. And the buildings that players will most likely end up making dupes in are smaller :Smile

That screen shot was from a very long time ago, I'll upload a photo of the completed bank loby; was ment to replicate the PayDay 2 but never got round to it.

And a final comment, a lot of the bigger rooms are decorated already however not in away the renders dupes useless!

And intemrs of the non city feel, I have addressed that by adding a lot of detail in the streets, the great part about that long central raid is it connects everyone. If you make a chef stand dupe you will get a lot of buyers as (assuming people follow road laws) they'll drive and see you.

From my point of view and map testers, most people will be roleplaying cheff and other roles to the west hand side were as clans or groups will be on the North East area were corporate buildings are, which all have elevators - greater for the clan rp. In the south east is the apartments and a few shops were people will most likely base - intern the whole street can be closed off for mass police raids, this is great for finding a hidden criminal, and they can use the alley ways to escape. The China town area is great for crime it really is, alleys and back streets.

In theory people will actually have to move about and on a giant scale this is great for a 70 player server. For instance on Evovity if you think "I want to live near shops" you can literally live next to them, in this map you have to get there via car or bus. Also the bus routs will add to the roleplay, most people who drives busses like routes so this will assist them. And whats even better is a car is not all that nessosery as you can walk most places using short cuts.  And as a person who sells items you have completion in temrs of location.

This map also equalisers teams out intemrs of Gov vs Criminal - police can control the streets really well, but buildings are much harder for police and swat to raid meaning its not one sided like it is now. Police can also chase cars well, cut off certain routs as a result of the New York grid system.

Sorry for grammer and enhlish, will edit the post when on my PC.
Nice, looks pretty dam good.

You can always use pakrat for them custom textures.

I could, but it would mean the map file is still very big. The pack i use has about 1000 textures, and i only use about 100 of them.
If the staff team is looking for someone with hammer editor experiece feel free to contact me. I have <5 years of experience. Mostly as a hobby though.
I would suggest anyone volunteering for something signing up as contributor!

I did sign up. Not sure if mappers is actually needed though.
I'm all for a custom map, but let's think about this.

Will new players download this "custom map", the only reason we have v33x is due to popularity.
You guys will have to remove all the bugs, optimize it fully, it will have to be spot on, better than some of the mappers who make v33x etc
It will be a hell of a job, but if you guys get it working I see some great potential tbh.
I have really good news, the content is now below 300 MB, and i plan to release a semi compiled version of the map this month with the content in the map file - it may not be optimized at that point as optimization is something we have to toy around with.

I added a bunch more detail to the streets and added a ton of new apartments.

Also, in response to PaulB, if people are dedicated to LL, they will download the map, intern - New players will see the servers player base and will actually consider it, further more if its made as a custom map, it wont be an edit. Users wont want to download "rp_evocity_v33x_limelightedit" however if they see a new map, with a new name, with 60-70 players on, they will most likely download it Smile.

Also, if anyone would like to play test mine and my friends map, please send me a PM. As its hard for us to find bugs as we are less likely to break the map or find bugs on purpose for physiologic reasons!

Fair enough.

Don't think LL is looking for a custom map atm. This was just a project that me and Project started working on.
I'm all aboard for what you guys want to do, but even with 8 years hammer experience their is still bugs in maps, the only reason people play these maps are because they are popular, if they were not popular they wouldn't be around. I'm all for you guys but I don't think even combined we as a community has enough experience in Hammer to nail out every single bug, optimize it etc. People won't download this map unless it's known to the community, and needs to be "easy" to download in a way so people who have just bought Garry's Mod know how to play on the server.

I have enough experience, how ever, this map is alot of work as it is, I'd need to be in a team if i were to make one for this community.
What I'm on about Andro is that have you ever made a successful map like Rockford/Evocity with players on it. The only way LimeLight could have a map as Vol said is having 0 flaws.
