I have been playing around with hammer for over 4 years, this thread motivated me to start something interesting and some people like/supported the idea.
"50,000 People used to play here, now it's a ghost town"
I'm pretty certain there's not 50k people who play on LimeLight - actually, I'm damn certain.
The thread has been up almost a week and I've yet to see proof of there being
any good mappers.
4 years experience...right... but do you have any experience creating a full map like this? Making a 'training map' is not the same.
Imagine you're making a Kickstarter project, try and prove to us that you can make this map happen and then maybe people will stop taking this as a bit of a joke.

From what I see, there are only two people on this thread see this as a joke. The previous images were of me changing a few things on evocity. We have now moved on from there and started working on a map from scratch.
I mean if you desire an image of this progress then that can be done.

Did I ever said I was talking about limelight? I was talking of the idea that goes around everywhere on the garry's mod community.
Which has 40-50k active players.
As you someone said above, before even I touch the hammer editor, there is a whole though process of what there is going to be in the map, how is going to be done, where is going to be made, what materials are needed.
Considering that you should wait a bit before saying this is a joke, I would like this to end here. If you wish to continue this feel free to PM me at any time. When we got something that worth peoples time then I will have some photographs posted.
Could you move this to the Serious Discussion sub forum?

Really? Move to the 'Serious Discussion' sub forum because you can't take some criticism?
Quote:This forum was created to allow for serious discussion on topics which might otherwise be sensitive and/or controversial.
Last I checked, Gmod maps didn't fall under the same category as say for example, religion or politics.

Quote:The purpose of this thread is that if a map was to be custom made for Limelight. What would you desire in that map?
I don't think the other 49,975 active Gmod players are interested in making a custom map for Limelight.

Cool, so in the mean time let's see other stuff you've made so you can convince us you have the ability to create such a map and not let people down by abandoning this in a few weeks time.

Why does it matter? Project said to stop and pm if needed. Rather you stop going off topic. Cheers

From this point on, I am going to ask you to either sent PM's or quit fucking around. You want to criticize? Go ahead, but if you are not going to provide anything useful you should stop posting here.
Also you obviously not criticizing but straight forward trolling.
I'm not fucking around - I'm discussing the probability of this project successfully being made, would you rather I kiss your ass and cheer you on?
Also, another request for previous work examples on hammer from the two of you please. Quite frankly I would love for you to prove me wrong and create a great map.
Town Hall or Nexus?
Would you like to have a town hall and a separate police station or a nexus where every goverment official is going to spawn?
Vote here!
A lake or a beach?
Would you prefer a lake like v33x or a beach like rockford?
Vote here!
Yes or no - Will you provide any examples of your previous work within Hammer?
Because at the moment you remind me of those kinds of kids who set out to create an open world RPG that'll blow AAA titles away.

Simply no, most of my projects have been dropped due to lack of help or simply lack of interest. If you wish to wait for a bit you will see a what we are coming up with. Until then please refrain from getting off topic. I do not know where you are trying to get, if this fails its okay for me, No one looses anything here, except me and Midget.
Why dose he need to show you his past work? You are not the L2 inspector, if he is willing to have a go and make a custom map then that is fine? What is the big deal, let this thread continue since we don't want you taking the piss anymore.
There is no need for you to comment if you are going to keep adding fule to the fire, leave it be and go elsewhere.
After this comment, please may you no longer go off topic.
Thank you.
This is the final warning.
It doesn't matter who gets the 'last word' in this debate - that's how arguments keep going.
If anybody continues this argument which holds no value other than to irritate the other party, I'll be handing out Warnings.
