Cyprus just abandoned their political correctness and their Interior Minister Socratis Hasikos had this to say when Cyprus declared they would only allow Christian refugees in.

His comments come amid rumoured reports that the EU executive will issue a new set of national quotas under which EU member states must take in 160,000 asylum seekers.

If that quota comes to effect, the UK can wave it's EU membership goodbye. lol

Yeah... that's just too many to handle. We just gave £900million to help these refugees.
There is no way the UK and Even Ireland can handle 160k refugees. I'm for them getting accepted but like Ireland has just come out of near bankruptcy. I think the UK accepting 20k was good and hopefully other countries will do the same. I'm still very disapointed in some of Syrias neighbours for their attitude towards the refugees.
UK has said they will not follow any quotas set by the European Council.
Yeah, 100-odd thousand's not quite what I had in mind...

Especially since we're reaching a housing crisis.

Shocker. Islamization of Europe in works.
Rumour has it that the boys father, Abdullah Kurdi, were infact a human smuggler.

From what i've heard his body was originally in another location, but they moved it just so the photo would look more tragic and moving. Yeah nice job.

I've read about that too but I heard by a friend that he read that it was another boy on the picture with the rocks. I haven't looked into it any further but personally I don't think they would've moved the body, however it would not suprise me one bit.
Bit late to the party, but:

From my personal view, I feel that rather than accepting the situation and dealing with it, we should fix the problem which is forcing them out of their homes.

Unfortunately, the case will always be that migrants do not instantly merge with the society.
They have little to no money, so they all coagulate in poorer areas of the countries; these become ghettos and the culture is the same - you essentially have your own culture just in a different country.

Personally, I think Australia has got it right: their general view is that you can come to our country and seek asylum, but if you live here, you are Australian; you're Australian above anything else.

They should stay in their own country and fix their own problems. Stop running from things.

What about their right of asylum? You can't deny them their basic human rights.

But when they commit rape, murder, larceny, burglary, and other vicious crimes, you SHOULD deny them their basic human rights.

No-one deserves to lose their basic human rights, thats why we have a fair justice system and like many countries if you have a criminal record you shouldnt be allowed in.
