There's a time when we gotta look into our hearts and ask ourselves if we want to be a good server or a popular one,

Map feedback:
The pro's of the map:
It is a large map which has a fair amount of potential. However due to low player count this is a negative as everyone is either basing and excluding themselves from each-other or people are sticking with their own squad instead of RP'ing. I am a big fan of the size of the map however it is not fully utilised for RP potential.
The con's of the map:
Not well known, if I was searching for a server on Garry's Mod I would probably avoid this server because I either don't have the map downloaded or haven't played on it enough to enjoy the map.
Rules & Roleplay:
First of rules. Yes their is a lot. Maybe too many; however I don't see this as a negative. Myself personally shit my self if I do any sought of aggressiveRP because of how the rules are interpreted differently with each individual person (which is why I don't aggressiveRP). The rules could be better explained if their was some sought of video explaining what the rules are and giving examples. Like the roleplay 101 video on Limelight's YouTube channel. Some rules do restrict RP such as NLR. Currently NLR is automatically applied even if it was an accidental kill for example when your own prop kills you, as you then have to wait for 10 minutes so you don't upset your NLR timer.
We care.
I appreciate this being said. I sometimes find that some staff don't always share their expressions as well as other might sometimes do. It would be nice if staff were a bit more active on the forums that us members can access instead of being on the secret forums. It would also be nice if staff gave their opinions on suggestions before it even gets to staff review, as this shows that they are active on the suggestions thread, I am aware that some staff do this but not all. I also think we as a community should appreciate the staff team much more as they do a lot for the server.
Lack of Content.
Now this one scares me a little. The only channels on the Discord I have un-muted are the changelog channels. I'm sure I am not the only one who has noticed a extreme decrease in updates being pushed. Here are some of the dates of the latest updates for the gamemode:
8th July
3rd July
25th June
Whereas before there use to be a lot more updates being pushed. I think people appreciate small updates and fixes regularly and one big update every so often. I think the Development team can also be supported if the suggestions were temporarily disabled and for Dev's to work on getting the approved suggestions finished. I know I would personally like to see the approved suggestions out of the way before anymore are approved.
Events
It is all our responsibility to do events - even if they are small ones. And I know people like Max are trying to increase the amount of events that are happening on the server.

Nothing is stopping us from moving into other games too as a community however it’s simply not true what you’re saying. Gmod is still a very active game and has almost infinite possibilities due to the ability to add whatever content you can imagine. If you observe what’s happening you’ll see that players are moving to some DarkRP servers and back to FL because LL has become stale. It’s inevitable that if LL started smashing out content then the reverse would happen. Yes it’s a grandmother of a game but until there’s a game that can suitably replace it, plenty of us will still be here and more will come back when new things are added.
To be honest it sounds like you’ve moved on and fair enough it seems like a lot of old players and admins have moved on from Gmod as a whole, but that’s you who is bored of GMod and LL and that doesn’t reflect this entire community who are mostly just fed up with the current state of things and are waiting, and it doesn’t reflect the thousands of people who are playing Garry’s Mod every day after all these years of it being released.
There’s still time to make this right and as a community we should be putting our heads together to try and fix this. If you’re not wanting to play GMod anymore then that’s with you.

So for people like me who are permbanned atm does that suspension carry on to another game mode if Limelight were to expand? (Question for admins) (Thats if they expand btw)

I don’t think it did when the minecraft server existed
Jul 8, 2019, 07:34 PM
The reason i stopped playing was purely because of how aggressive the server got in terms of RP. It was extremely rare to see anyone set-up or take part in passive rp's. I noticed a lot of players were getting away with things over and over which just made the game boring imo.
I think evocity, as much as we all hated it before, would make a difference and bring people back. I know myself and many IRL friends would love to come back and sink another couple hours into evo.

You say that there are almost infinite possibilities in it and yet we are still not taking advantage of that.
If it takes such a long time to develop features such as shooting out tires, character customization or what have you, then is it really worth having these infinite possibilities?
I have recently been playing a game called Space Station 13 and seeing how there are thousands of things to do in that game that I have always dreamed of doing in Garry's Mod, I must say that there are still a lot of things that could be added.
All I see in this community is players pointing at staff, staff pointing out time constraints.
Iif Garry's Mod is not dead, then how come it is so hard to find developers? If it is a money problem, then it comes back around to the problem of not having enough donators, which means we don't have enough players. Infinite loop.

Nobody seems to want to contribute and those who already signed up are inactive except a couple - and the contribution application process for people like me is difficult.
It's not rocket science. Without people willing to dev you don't get content.

I agree with you on this. The last promotion to Developer was Goigle on Monday, September 3rd, 2018, 17:07. I don't know about Contributors but there is now only 2 (I think there were a couple more).

To make this clear to everybody. I am not here to talk shit about the developers. I've known these guys as well as some of our old devs for many years even before they were even close to a contributor and I've seen them work their magic countless times. I am simply giving out my (somewhat educated) opinion in hopes of finding out how Limelight could grow. Believe me, if I was a millionaire, I would have donated thousands of dollars already, but as a college student, all I can do is give my opinion and be open to your guys' opinions in the hopes of trying to figure this out together.

With respect Liv, it's only difficult because your case is very unique in nature.
I've seen many contrib apps get dealt with quite quickly, but due to the circumstances surrounding your application in particular, it may take a little while longer to process than normal.
