I agree 100%, if you have any ideas for events on live/event server or want to host any please let me know, would be more then happy to hear your ideas or help out.

The main issue with me, with events is that it feels like a lot of them have already been done. There is a planned event server overhaul on the road-map at the moment. After which I will be hosting some more "specialized" events on the event server.

What would you like to see criminal rp wise? And in what way would you want to see the damage system overhauled? (Be able to take more damage/less damage?)
(May 4, 2019, 11:31 PM)Cochise Wrote: [ -> ]Better presidential system

Definitely. Personally I would love to have a city council system instead of a "president". Every two weeks or so elections would be held through in-game mechanics in which several "parties" could run. They would then be able to establish laws together for that period of time.

Ideally I would want to see tax have a purpose, and be allocated to different government branches which then in turn would be able to allocate it to different things. So that police won't have an infinite supply of free guns.

Update VCMod to make shooting tyres out possible
More detective possibilties - gun residue and the like
The ability to place items into boots
I think most of those are expected minus the combat system. We have a version of the server with the new VCMOD at some point, but it never got finished, not sure why.

More "singleplayer" content (take Monolith RP for example and their crafting/skilling system) that makes the game fun and drives people together but isn't dependant on other players to work. The best kind of content is that which can be done alone, but is easier/more convenient as well as fun with friends.

Delete American server (waste of money).

Invest in new devs to produce more interesting content. If FL has more content than us when we left them initially to produce more content without being cucked by Soulripper, I think we've become the problem we intended to solve.

Fix how cars drive or remove cars exploding.

Reset economy, nerf weed, buff meth, fix our darkrp market where you buy everything from the F1 menu and combat hyperinflation.

Implement a better clan system where you don't have to go to the website to manage it.

Fix colour scheme from orange and black to something that stands out from the dark colour pallet of Gmod.

Streamline and get rid of the HUNDREDS of commands we have or add a commands page like FL. Compile these commands to options on the UI/HUD. The learning curve is so steep for new players it's rediculous. Even I can hardly figure it all out.

Fix FPS

Rework jobs so 50% of them aren't useless (taxi driver, doctor, chef, security guard, vice president)

Remove useless jobs/content

Do what FL did and add custom emotes like thinking so LL is no longer just /me's. Give people the tools they need to roleplay and have fun doing it and you will see more people actually passive RPing.

Fix the donater perks. Who the f*ck uses the military suits anyway?

Fix FPS.

Stop producing content with the idea of what you WANT people to do with it and instead what WILL people do with it. Example: every time we change maps our community circle-jerks the idea of "great RP areas" for people to build in and create an immersive experience with. Who actually has the time for that? We keep changing maps because it's the same thing every time: bland, repetitive content of drive around, raid, shoot cops, and wait for something to happen when that loop gets boring.
We have a giant steel mill, sugar plant, grocery store, mineshaft, woods, and a river. PUT SOMETHING THERE FOR PEOPLE TO DO.

Remove or do something with trading cards and other dead content.

Fix FPS.

I know how this post may come across as rather blunt and rude, but that's because it's meant to be that way. After seeing the US server be announced, by far the worst decision I've seen the team make and a complete misread on what this community needs, I think it's time for this rude awakening.

As the devs and overseers of this server, it's your job to make this fun for the players. So how about instead of making the admin rank a glorified babysitter to a server half-full of screaming autists, you make this shit run itself. Fill the map with content like an effective crafting system, minigames like hunting animals in the woods or anything Blackdog suggested, fixing appliances, and more. Do that and you'll find people to be enjoying themselves more and not have to resort to killing each other for fun. Make it grindy, make it long, but ultimately make it feel rewarding in the end. Take Runescape as an excellent example.
A clan system "overhaul" is planned in the future. But I do agree that there needs to be more to do. The fps issues seems to be stuck to the gamemode, development has tried to optimize it, but personally it hasn't improved much, and it does really hamper the fun you can have.
More optimizations.

Stuff was running smoother at some point after the big wave of optimizations. After changing to truenorth it seems that I can't have 10 fps if there is 20 people on, almost half of what used to be on rockford before my fps would fall that low.

Photon isn't that great either for low-end computers too.

I think for some of us the game is less enjoyable when it almost as if we are playing a slideshow.
Support Passive RPs
Id say we need more depth to passive rp and certain jobs. In some parts i agree with theo and monty here:
Our cab drivers are useless and other then beeing a merchant - there is almost no good gameplay mechanic to promote or support passive / legal rps. If you are not interested in building or otherwise getting creative there is little you can do. And whilst most of us have the one or other interesting dupe - most of us cant be bothered to run it 24/7. So we need something we can do inbetween. What do we do at 3 am with almost no one around? What do we do if we are broke/new to the server?
What do we do if we cant get our store/passive rp running? We simply need more ways to keep people busy.

Decline of Merchant Roles.
With our community and its members getting older and older our inventorys are filled to the brim. I can support an entire freaking army just with my weapons inventory (yet all i really need and us are binoculars and shovels). Why would i ever feel the need to buy from a gun dealer?
The same sorta goes for chefs - while they are far more usefull - and far more used - in the end of the day most of us have a pretty good ration of fish - so why would we bother searching for a chef just to be charged 1-3k for somethign we can obtain in less then two minutes.
Now this is somethign the crafting update (exspecially if it also brings some sort of cooking system) would most likely solve, but since you asked...

Boredom and lack of passive economy
We made it extremely easy and beneficial to grow weed. Probably even a little too beneficial (most of us are already quite rich). Yet we have no effective counterpart on the passive side. Sure passive/legal rps need to be less beneficial as their illegal counterparts as otherwise the risk tied to weed etc wouldnt pay out. But in the end of the day there still need to be passive mechanics. We are not dark rp. Agressive RP is lots of fun but we must not limit outselves to it.
With the severly nerfed woodcutting and almost no other way to make a bit of money on the passive side people have almost no insentives to just discover the map, enage other people or do something passiv if dont have the time or will to setup larger Dupes and RPs. Most RPs and dupes require a lot of preperation to set them up, and a certain level of participation to get them running. But what do we do inbetween - in case of low server population or if we are just not in the mood or position to run a larger rp? We gotta find ways

One approach to passive economy: Trucking
Why dont we add something like a trucking/delivery system, where you basicly can gain a little ammount of money for ferrying goods. Get your truck out, pick up the goods at A, bring em to B... . This is a very simple but helpfull mechanic thats used by plenty of other roleplay communitys: wether its delivery missions in Arma3-RP communitys, smuggling jobs on 5M servers or mailman/truck driver jobs within the gmod competition.
Why should we do this:
  • Even with little reward it gives you a good insentive to move to & through less popular/populated areas therefore establihing increased and realistic ammounts of traffic, whilst promoting more remote areas (fewer dead areas). That same traffic and will also promote other rps (accidents, traffic stops etc.)
  • It simply gives you something to do - why not tune up some music and drive around a little rather then standing in one spot waiting endlessly for a police slot - or something interesting to happen. This mechanic works as the entire recipie behind some games (truck simulators, elite dangerous etc..) and as a massive addition to others (see Arma RP, GTA etc.). If people dump hours into hauling virtual goods in other games and other servers im optimistic itll work out for us to some extend.
  • It provides newer players with a limited yet reliable and immersive way to make a little cash without having to risk loosing all their weed (which can be a lot of capital for newer people) or requiring advanced knowledge about meth etc.)

Rework or replace older features
We have and have had a lot of very interesting and unique features, sadly we lost some. And whilst i am not a dev and therefore cant tell which severe issues some of those features had, i think perhaps a few older ones could be replaced.
Like the Radio:
BBC 1 is (on rare occasions) enjoyable - but it doesnt seem to be as popular as other stations we had back in the day. Why dont we add a few others to the radio. Just to mix up the genre. Lets say we add an alternative rock/punk radio, one hip hop station and likewise. Im not an expert on the legalities here but there are plenty of free stations...
This sounds like a minor thing but think of all the ways music adds to an atmosphere. Most of my rps were allways accompanied by matching music, wether it was my Diner (blasting credence clearwater revival), my concert hall (AC/DC, Queen, Nirvana) or my bowling alley (with more CCR :P )
Music just provides so much depth and entertainment to otherwise mundane situations (driving, fishing, police patrols, waiting for customers....)
I will allways miss atmos, the day/night and wether system... but understand if thats probably not possible. Although it would be pretty epic.

As i said im not a dev and i dont mean to complain. This is meerly just a set of ideas that i would find most interesting (in addition to the ones we have on the roadmap). Ill make matching suggestions although i think the delivery system has been suggested and either denied or abandoned before.
Make jobs in the game more realistic for example: A chef would have to buy ingredients to make certain foods like a burger or a "Dinner" and paramedics would have to actually engage in doing something to save someones life instead of a "Medkit" which has some green liquid in it that makes someone who just got ran over magically okay. Maybe add like Defibrillators or perhaps a medkit which heals the patient but doesn't revive him to have time to actually RP the scenario instead of your patient dying mid RP.

Also adding small features to jobs that aren't really used often for example a chauffeur, perhaps adding a taxi meter to make it more enjoyable.

Mainly just add things into jobs that can make Roleplaying more realistic and enjoyable for those who actually "RP"
People also need something new to spend their money in order to fix the huge amount of money currently available. But seeing that all approved vehicle suggestions just got denied (despite being approved since ages) that might be a problem.

Defibs were great when they were a thing on the server, paramedic slot was nearly always full. Re-add this feature.
- New cars or other things to spend money on

- Bring VCMod back (I have the same fps like I had when VCMod was on the server)

- Day/Night Cycle + Rain/Snow/Storm

- Delete cars which aren't being used (there was a survey/statistic for that once)

- New donator perks

- Change back to Evocity

- Fix FPS

- Better driving

Half of what you suggested is going to kill FPS on lower/mid end computers.

There is a reason development choose Photon over VCMod and there is a reason Day/Night Circle was removed.

Kill fps?

FL is having double the content we have whilst using vcmod and atmos/stormfox. The fps on FL are pretty good compared to the fps here despite the points I've mentioned before.

The Day/Night Circle which is missing is destroying roleplay since years now.
